Which is more fun? CG vs YS (& boardwalk)

This will be our 2nd mother/daughter trip. On check-in day we are hitting DTD stores and restaurants followed by PI. Day two is slated for a water park (unless the weather designates DQ) followed by a resort freshening up. Now, which would be more fun for my DD 23? Dinner at the CG (she's a big sushi fan) or dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Does the 14th floor of the CR outweigh the after dinner appeal of the Boardwalk area? (She hasn't been to either restaurant; I've had an excellent dinner at YS).

How about CG followed by Boardwalk? :confused3

If you have a car, simple enough to drive over. If not, you can pick up a resort bus at the MK entrance or take a taxi.

If your DD is into sushi, CG would be a lovely choice.

If it was me, and I could only pick one or the other, I'd take CG every time. I love the food, the extensive wine list and the atmosphere. The boardwalk is fun, but I think you can make a more memorable evening at the contemporary.

I'd get a 6:30 or 7:00 reservation and have a relaxed meal. Then if I still have time to kill before the fireworks, I'd scope out the hotel gift shops and head back up for the fireworks (it appears they'll let you leave and come back to keep people from defending tables up to fireworks time. You can't get up if you haven't or aren't having dinner there.)

Then after the fireworks you could catch the electrical water pageant on the
bay lake side.

But the boardwalk is fun too, you probably can't go wrong.

I just realized that while I'd take the CG over the boardwalk here, I'd pick epcot over the mk every single time. Kinda strange...

Thanks so much for the advice...I guess I'm torn not just because of the food choices (I think both menus are excellent) but because my DD has never been to the BW area. We did do a monorail tour (with dinner at Kona) on our last DM/DD trip. So should I walk her around the BW for the first time? (after our fabulous YS dinner) or simply enjoy a leisurely meal at CG w/ after dinner drinks at the bar?

I should add...we are dependant on Disney transportation... but I'm happy to pay cab fare when its worth it :)

I much prefer the Boardwalk area, personally. CG is overrun with families trying to see the fireworks and is not a nice adult environment anymore.

Yachtsman is great, Flying Fish might be another option if she enjoys seafood http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_ff.htm. There is a sushi bar at the Swan - at least I assume it's still there? I've always wanted to try it. http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_su.htm

I think the Boardwalk is a lot of fun in the evening. We had a great meal at Spoodles last trip, followed by about an hour or so of hanging on the Boardwalk watching the street entertainers and shopping, then watched the high fireworks at EPCOT from the Boardwalk.

After that, we went and played a round of putt putt - the Disney courses are SO much fun.
