Which is harder to book?

We will mostly be staying in studios and 1br to start off. I'm curious which timeframe is harder to book--low point times or "peak" WDW times? I'm trying to get a feel for how difficult it would be to get a room during March or July. It's not our first choice to go during these times, but we realize that it may happen.

I would be interested to know the difficulty of getting a non home resort at these times.

Also, when are the more difficult times to secure a room at VB?

I'm not looking at BWV or BCV for F&W or VWL at Christmas, I know those are next to impossible if it isn't a home resort.

I do not think it is impossible to book a preferred view BWV studio or 1 bedroom for F&W at 7 months out. I know that 2 years ago I needed to add a studio because more friends wanted to come, and I got one, not Boardwalk view or standard view but I did get a studio for the 3 nights. I think getting BCV for that time frame would be harder, but BWV is still doable.

Also, at 7 months out, I think you will get something at VB...even an OVIR. It's the Beach Cottages that are extremely hard to get...but also possible to a non owner.

We recently added on at the resorts we will want to stay at because I just didn't want to chance not getting into the resorts I wanted when I knew I wanted to go there and book at 8-11 months out. I think that the high point time at Christmas/New Years is the hardest time for a non owner, or even an owner to book a particular resort.

Well... certainly the peak times are peak for a reason... that given, HHI and VB are a little different from the other resorts. HHI has a short season being more north. They are very hard to book June-August, and Vero beach is peak February - July.. Still... you can book them pretty successfully going DBD for any time (VB is much easier than HHI). We own at BWV and have booked a both regularly at the 7 month mark.
