Hi,
I am approaching some DLR trips in warm/hot weather. Which is the better option for cooling? A cooling towel or a misting fan? Any particular brands work better than others? I am very sensitive to heat, so am looking for something that really works well.

thanks!

My son used one of those bands that you put in water and then the bead inside fill and keep you cool. Don't really know if it worked as he didn't really keep it on. We have used misters in the past. Wear Natural breathable fabrics. Open weave hat, lots of fluids .
Hope you have a good time.

I've only ever used misting fans and really liked them on the trip we took in May 2014 that had random 100 degree weather. I've heard good things about the cooling towel, but have never used one.

I'll just point out that misting fans can (and do) wind up hitting other people around you, when used. Doesn't take much - a little wind, or a kid just playing around with it.

I got a faceful waiting in line one day at WDW.

i was there at the same time during the may 2014 heatwave -- we had one misting fan we bought from DL in 2013 and it works great! and at that time people were greatful to get misted by our fan, when my accident, it was so hot!

That is a very good point. I worry about it leaking also.

So, that begs the next question.... which is the best cooling towel?

I am going in September and getting both. And any other hot weather hack I can find. I Am not good in the heat.

I've actually used a good old fashioned folding fan during heat waves in DLR and they offer a lot of relief!
