We have stayed in EI but not WH. Hopefully you will get replies from the many DISers who have recently tried WH.
EI is quite new and very lovely, but WH is newer and construction is ongoing. I had a quote for our May trip on a WH home and noticed in pictures that there was a grassy area behind the home. The owner admitted that it might be the site of future construction but she was not sure. I think you may want to ask the owner whether construction is completed near the home.
Distance would not be a factor for me: these are two of the closest developments to WDW.
WH does have a much nicer pool area with more resort features (zero depth entry, slides, more elaborate club house with cinema, etc.). Personally, we would never use it if we had a home with a pool, especially since it would most likely mean driving to the pool.
Personally, I would go with the home I liked better and the owner I felt more comfortable dealing with. YMMV.
