Which is better Walt Disney World or Disneyland?

We live in Alabama so of course WDW is much closer and it was our first Disney Park. We have only been to DLR twice but there is an certain charm and nostalgia to that park that is lacking at WDW As others have posted, I strongly suggest that you go there if at all possible. But. Also suggest that you be prepared for the differences. The park IS smaller. The castle IS smaller the Trin Station IS smaller. But it is also there where it all began.

As to the original question of which is better I can say now that without a doubt WDW is much better. I can also say without a doubt that tomorrow I might say that DLR is much better.

They are both Disney which says it all.

I've gotten plenty wet on Splash Mountain at Disney World, plus there are more drops and the little roller coaster section, and the big drop is bigger!

I live in Missouri, so I'm right in the middle too. I first went to Disneyland when I was in Kindergarten, and Disney World in the 3rd grade. I worked at Disney World in 2006 and there is no way I could choose a favorite.

I didn't get a drop on Splash last Summer, but I suppose there's always a chance :)

Dunno if I'd call Missouri right in the middle though. It's 1,000 miles to Orlando or 2,000 to CA for me. Definitely a much more difficult trip to CA.;)

With the new logs, you sit 2 to a row on WDW's Splash instead of DL's single row. And they raised the sides so we never got sloshed and left the ride totally dry. Our VIP guide said it was the only water ride they are allowed to ride because they do not get very wet and Disney requires them to maintain a "neat and tidy" look....

Well I'm Kansas City side of Missouri so there isn't that much difference for me. And for some reason I've made it to California double the amount that I've been to Florida

You were lucky then...we rode DL's Splash 3 times during our trip and all 3 times we got off that ride soaked.
