Which is better? Narcossee's or California Grill to watch Wishes

We currently have the following 2 ADR's:

California Grill - 5:30PM, plan to head to MK afterwards to catch Spectromagic at 8:00

Narcossee's - 7:05PM, our last night, plan to watch Wishes from there and then call it a night.

I've never been to either restaurant so my question is would you switch the 2 reservations if you could? Is one better than the other to watch Wishes from? Or, is it fine the way it is?

Next question, if you had to cancel one of them (ignoring the timeslots); which would you cancel? We may end up cancelling 1 of them to book two other TS restaurants.

Thanks for the help!

California Grill is going to involve a lot more pushing and shoving to see the fireworks from there, unless you happen to end up with a window table facing the MK (of the 5-6 times we've eaten there, it's happened once for us). We don't even bother trying to see the fireworks from there, because people honestly get NUTS.

There was an "incident" last time we were there. We stayed at our table, so didn't see, but the family it happened to was one we'd spoken with earlier that day, and they were seated next to us. They had to call the manager over and point out the offending woman to him, and he apologized profusely. For me, something like that would just spoil the experience. I'd always remember it as the dinner when I got shoved/cursed at/you name it for blocking someone else's fireworks view.

At Narcoossee's, there is a large deck, and a larger percentage of the tables seem to be able to see fireworks. If the deck is too crowded, you can always step outside for a gorgeous view. There's just less pressure; the CG is the penultimate for fireworks views, so people tend to get rabid.
If you're going for the food, though (which is why I go out to eat), then the CG wins hands-down.

Cheers!

keep in mind that the view of wishes from either of those restaurants is not the same view as from the park...
we much prefer being in the park for wishes, and certainly wouldn't bother with either of those two restaurants just to see wishes..

we're probably the only people in the world who really disliked the california grill...we thought it extraordinarily noisy for what was supposed to be a good restaurant....and the CMs were not great either. Perhaps they were new. They were attempting to be pretentious, which was just silly.

Narcosees is better, but our favorite restaurant at the GF is Citricos. Unbelievable salmon there. The best we've ever had.

Gotta throw my hat in here... I've never been to Narcoossee's, but I agree with the above posters that CG has issues with the fireworks, despite its reputation. IMHO, the reason to go there is for the restaurant itself - I actually try to avoid fireworks times if I can - and the best place to watch Wishes (which I love) is the MK.

The fireworks view from CG is amazing!!! You might have to fight, but I'm telling you it is awesome!

I also pick CG. I don't always get a table right by the window, but even if I don't I'll get up and walk out onto the balcony where you can here the music from the fireworks and see them very well.:thumbsup2

They are more spectacular from CG in my opinion.

We LOVED our dinner and the ability to watch wishes from Narcocees!!!!

Seems like you're more interested in fireworks than food. If you're going to go to either of these two great restaurants, fireworks should not be a deciding factor. Just watch them from Main Street where they were designed to be viewed from, it's a totally different experience. Maybe just go up to the CG for a drink around fireworks time?

Thanks for all the responses! We are probably going to leave our ADR's as they are with CG at 5:30 and Narcossee's at 7:05 and catch the fireworks there. We will see them at MK too. My question was would you switch ADR's time, CG at 7, Narcossee's at 5:30? I'm going to leave them as they are. Thanks everyone!
