Currently have reservations for March 16-22 (with discount) at CBR, but since seeing that Orange Co., FL, is on Spring Break that week, I'm questioning myself. My other option would be the first week of June, but no guarantee of getting a discount. I hate crowds, and by June I would have adjusted to hotter weather. Are 1st week June crowds substantially lower than Spring Break crowds, and will those extra hours in the evenings make a difference?

I haven't been during spring break, but I've been twice in the last few years during June 1-7 and will be there May 31 - June 7 this year.

From all I hear at spring break time...June is DEFINITELY my choice. The crowds aren't bad during that week, and we've had great weather, too! (knocking on wood already!! LOL)

Go early, take a break, go back!! That's our plan and it works well for both DW and I and the kids (7 and 4 this year)

In 2001 we were there the beginning of June.

In 2002 we were there over St. Pat's Day.

Both were absolutely FINE! Lines that I recall were about the same during both periods. Weather was definitely more predictable in June---guaranteed every day was a swim day!

Well, if you are looking for which is better for saving money, and having better hours, I would go the 1st of June. It is regular season, vs peak season in March, and the hours are a bit better than in March as well. Yes, it will be a bit hotter, but I think I could put up with that!

I live in SW Fl and my kids are off from school on March 17-24th (return to school on the 25th). I am going that week...... and they get out of school for the summer on May 29th..... I plan on going from June 1-9th. In my opinion, I think it will be less crowded in June....and like someone else has posted......you will be guaranteed swimming days in June and the resorts are cheaper (as someone else posted).....;)

Since I have the discount on my reservation in March, it would actually cost me about $170 more for the same amount of time/same place first week of June. So I guess I'm wondering would it be worth that extra cost to have longer hours in the park, potentially more time to use the water parks, as well as possibly less crowds to contend with? I've only been in November during "Jersey/Soap Star week", which was fairly crazy the year we were there. If March is worse than that, then I may be better off with June. How do Spring Break crowds and 1st week June crowds compare to that time in November?

I've been to WDW at both times and found the crowds to be about the same. If given the opportunity, I would probably choose March over June only because of the cooler weather. BUT, when we were there in March, if was warm enough to wear shorts, swim at Typhoon Lagoon and even sweat a little during the afternoon. Extended hours don't do much for me because I'm usually ready to call it a day about the time the parks normally close.

We went the first week of June and will never ever go then again. too hot. Too crowded. I haven't been in March in probably 15 years. We like Oct/Nov and will sometiimes take a small Jan visit.

June has better discounts and much less crowds.

We have been twice in Early March and twice in early June. We won't be going back in March again. We had longer waits in March 02 than at Christmas 01 and Christmas 02!!!

We are going again in June this year.

As far as costing more for your June ressies, discounts aren't out yet for June.

well....

After reading input from others in the club, I have been advised that the first and second week of June is when the gay/lesbians have their bash at the world. Unless that would bother you and your family, I would definitely do more research before I changed my reservations. I stumbled across this info in my search for best times to travel. I have visited WDW in November but have never visited in March nor June. Good luck!

GayDays are for a week I think. Usually the first week.

They have an official schedule on their website. I think it's gaydays.com

They usually do a Saturday at MK and one day at MGM. It seems alot of the stuff is at Pleasure Island and Church Street.

We just avoid those days at the parks-as we would for any big group.:D

Thanks for all the great input! I've checked the Gay Days schedule and it looks like Saturday June 7 is the day for WDW. We plan on hitting one of the water parks for a couple of hours our last day (Saturday) before we hit the road, so I don't believe we would be adversely impacted by the event. The only thing that bothers me about Gay Days is the crowd potential.

Keep the opinions coming - I value all the great WDW experience on this board.

Hey tbickford - we may be kinfolk! My DH is a Bickford - not too many of those around.

Hi. We're going March 8-15 and are hoping since Easter's later this year, the crowds will be manageable. June is just too hot for us I guess.

We've gone 2nd week in March (8-16) two years. 1999 and 2002. Crowds were much heavier in 2002 but with a well planned itinerary and fast pass we didn't wait in too many lines. I found that come 1 PM the parks were jammed and there was nothing to do but get the heck out of there :). Although we love going in March the downside is that when you go back for an afternoon break:

1. Sometimes it's too cold to swim. 2002 was warm. 1999 was cool.

2. Park hours are shorter so you need to return earlier thus a shorter afternoon break (consider travel time, swim time and drying off time).

We are traveling June 1-8 this year because of a Spring Break conflict. i think from what I've researched that crowds will be similar but the weather will be hotter. We are going to use the longer hours to our advantage and plan a long afternoon break to enjoy the resort.

Hope this helps!:)

just because school is out for spring break in Ornage County doesn't have THAT MUCH of an effect. Not all counties observe spring break at the same time. Parents still have to go to work. and the kids who live here typically have an annual pass and can go any time their parent can get them here, spring break or not. So enjoy the $170 discount, the cooler weather and the shorter lines. With shorter lines you don't need the extra hours. Last week we had the bikers This week it is the bowl attenders. It's ALWAYS some group. better SOME GROUP than some groupS

You can swim anywhere! Just a local's opinion.
