LOL, well I am central (literally dead central almost) Ohio and we don't have it. And yes, the SE part of Ohio is more "southern" than anyone in Ohio would ever want to admit ;)

Without getting too personal....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: do you all have Skyline where you are? They have yummy sweet tea!!!! To me, it compares to South Carolina sweet tea (I swear I gained 15 lbs when we moved to SC...all from sweet tea and fried chicken and barbecue!!!)....majorly craving sweet tea, little one can not handle any caffiene at all. As soon as he weans...watch out, I'll be ordering sweet tea by the gallon at skyline chili!!

I used to convince myself that sweet tea was better...until 1 fateful day. I went to the food court to get my usual sweet tea before opening my store. She gave me my cup and I took a drink, it wasn't sweet tea. Went back and told her and she looked in the back and said they forgot to put in the sugar. She grabs a very large pitcher totally full and dumps it into the ice tea brewer. I have not had a sweet tea since then. Its about a bag of sugar per brewing!

I'll stick with my Diet Coke or regular tea with sweetener.

Great...ruin the dream for the rest of us....:sad1:

Out of curiosity I looked up nutritional information, comparing Chickfila sweet tea to regular coke.

Chick-fil-a Sweet Tea:
Serving Size: 12 oz.
Calories:130
Calories from fat:0
Sugar:34 grams
Carbs:34 grams
Sodium:0

Regular Coca-Cola:
Serving Size: 12 oz.
Calories:146
Calories from fat:0
Sugar:37 grams
Carbs:37 grams
Sodium:13 mg

That puts coke at slightly worse, but so close I would call it a tie.

Yep, we have Skyline, but I am told I am a horrible Ohioan since I cannot stand the food there. I have only gone a handful of times in my life and leave hungry. I'll remember to try it the next time I am there. I can't imagine I'll willingly go for a while though :p

My Dr. would agree with you :thumbsup2 I told him I had given up pop but had now become addicted to sweet tea. He told me they were both bad for me :guilty:

All I know is both are loaded with sugar. I guess Coke would have lots more chemicals, but I need look no further than the sugar

I didn't like it until I was pg with the twins...weird, huh? Plus, it is so NOT chili!! :rotfl2: It's spaghetti with different sauce and cheese.

Anyway, go thru the drivethru....you don't have to get a three-way. (no, not that kind of three way...go visit the oprah thread if you want that convo.)

we have a chik-fil-a drivethru kinda close to hear, too....yummy. i actually started using a "tea" smelling bath and body works soap and lotion this summer. now i can even smell like my fave drink. is that weird?

How many teaspoons or tablespoons is that?

Thats almost 3 Tablespoons per 12 oz. 24 tablespoons make up a fluid oz, so about 12.5% of your drink is sugar.

I guess I am reading it wrong.... 3 TBS is a LOT, for sure.... I was thinking less than 1TBS per 12 ounces based on that site.

I was on the same converision site for the teaspoons and tablespoons conversion. I was better able to visualize the teaspoons. I still like to trick myself into believing its Sweet and Lo every once in a while... :rolleyes1

Ah, but now I see my mistake! There are 34 GRAMS, not 13 grams... I wonder where I came up with 13? :confused3

Assuming it's American-bottled Coke, meaning that it's made with high fructose corn syrup, the sweet tea (assuming it is made with actual sugar) is better. HFCS is just junk.

Well it seems according to the good folks on the Dis I have won this discussion w/DH as to which is better for me..............

So I'll continue sipping my sweet tea, brushing my teeth so I don't get cavaties from all the sugar, and cutting back on other carbs since it seems my sweet tea has more sugar in it than most anything else I eat!! :rotfl:

thanks to all!!

You could look for the Dr Pepper made with cane sugar. I also think that the Coke from Mexico is made with cane sugar. I don't think that cane sugar is particularly bad for you if you don't overdo it.

I also believe that even black tea has health benefits. I would agree that the sweet tea would be better for you than regular Coke.
