Which is better for almost 3 year old?

My family enjoyed Ohana. They loved the food and I LOVED dessert! Additionally, its nice not to have dinner interrupted by trips to the buffet line. I had a 3 year old at the time of our trip and felt like I was so busy getting the kids plates together, they were finished by the time I sat down to eat.

I agree with this. Buffets with younger children who can't navigate the buffet on their own are not fun, IMHO! DH and I would always have to end up taking turns going to the buffet and, by the time we all had our food, someone had inevitably finished already and we never ate together. Plus trying to time it so you go to the buffet and not miss a character - it was too stressful, LOL! I would pick O'hana. The food is good and the music and games are a lot of fun.

I would base it on whether you have a picky eater or not. Look at the Ohana menu and see if it has things your child would like. If not, then I'd say lean towards the buffet because generally you can always find something. But if not a picky eater and you like food - def Ohana. Although I will say 1900 PF is one of the better buffet dinners on property.

I think it depends on your child's taste.

Does he like face characters a lot? 1900 Park

Does he love noodles and pot stickers? Interactive games with other kids? Ohana

ohana has picky kid food too... my picky eater got mac and cheese (he wouldn't eat any of the other sides) to go with his mountain of steak. I have also seen reports of chicken fingers there too and I think a few other options. I owuldn't let a picky kid stop me.

That's good info right there. Wouldn't know that by just viewing the menu. Thanks!

1900 Park Fare has a counter that is physically lower (as I recall) with kid-friendly food. The character interactions are fun - but does he know the Cinderella characters?

Ohana does offer kid-friendly food (served family style) and dessert. He may like the atmosphere better - pushing coconuts with brooms, dancing, etc.

We are on the dining plan and since he's not yet three he's free, so would he be offered any kid friendly food? He does eat Mac and cheese.

yes, I have read many reports where they brought some kid friendly food for kids who eat free there. They don't seem too fussed about that. I'm sure the servers realize it will help them get a better tip by taking good care of the littles.

My almost 3 year old loved Ohana on our first trip. It's the only restaurant we're repeating now that he's turning 6 :)

When my son was that age and we went to 'Ohana the CM asked right off the bat if he would prefer chicken fingers and Mac and Cheese to the regular dinner food. We didn't even ask. It worked our great. He tried some of our food but also had stuff we knew he liked.

My 3 year old son LOVED 'Ohana for breakfast and dinner. We didn't try 1900 PF though this last trip.

Yes! We traveled with DS before he was three both with and without the dining plan and had no issue getting meals for him.
