Which is better Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay

Going in February, 2 adults never been on a cruise, so which island would be better and why? Thanks.

Both are paradise and I don't think you can go wrong at either. I might give the edge to CC, due to being there more and being more familiar with it. I'm still "learning" LC. However the food at LC has a slight edge IMO, and the ice cream bar at Serenity Bay on LC was awesome!

This will be one of those where you get a lot of differing opinions. We just returned from our first visit to LC. We have been to CC three times before. From a pure beach day you can’t beat LC. It’s the most beautiful beach and water around. The food and options at Serenity Bay BBQ are really good.
From an overall experience with activities to do CC is the better option. The beach is amazing but not the same quality as LC. I find the food at CC to be not as good as what we had at LC.

We favor CC over LC. A prime factor is the accommodation for DW’s gluten free dining requirement. LC has done this very poorly both times we visited, once on the Dream and once on the Fantasy. CC has been very reliable in this regard, over many cruises including our January Fantasy cruise that visited both CC and LC.

From an adult beach day perspective, I’m going to say LC. We’ve only been once and we’ve been to CC 5 times and they’re both amazing, but the food was better at LC and the sand is super soft.

Our family of 4 just did both of these on a B2B on the Fantasy... Consensus was adults liked LC and kids liked CC.

It really just comes down to personal preferences, and what you are looking for.

I agree with @shb5007 , personal preference. I think LC has better food. CC has a more sheltered beach and better snorkeling. The rest mostly comes down to aesthetics. LC has the Eleutheran cultural stuff (Junkanoo, art, etc) and the lighthouse itself. Castaway is more grown-in and has a great vibe. They are both a lot of fun.

Castaway Cay for us. Lookout pier is way too long.
This is a valid consideration if anyone in your party has mobility issues. I got almost 10k steps on my last CC day compared to 16k at LC, but we rode bikes on CC and did the nature walk at LC. Figure add an hour of cycling to that CC total.

Just went to Lookout in January for the first time. After going in with low expectations, I can say I probably like lookout better. The sand is soft, and water is crystal clear. Before then, I would've said CC but with two under 5 that splash pad at lookout made it much more enjoyable

LC has the better beach by far. Really unique pink sand, turquoise water, the ability to spread out and have privacy. CC has better amenities, excursions, and is more developed. Like everyone else says, it depends on which features you prioritize.

I have only been to LC once, just recently. Beautiful, beautiful beach. Adult food area, bar-excellent. The live reggae band there was fantastic. But it was windy-so windy. No umbrellas could be put up, no shade, on a beautiful sunny day. Too windy to snorkel. which I was so looking forward to. I guess I need another visit... oh well. LOL. Right now my favorite is CC

Both are great but I like LC better. The beach is much more stunning and naturally beautiful than CC. I also really liked the design of the buildings and just the overall esthetic of the whole area.

How was the weather? A February cruise to castaway and lookout might be the only one that works for us next year but I’m worried it will be too cold.

Depends on what your family likes to do. At castaway there were no flotation devices like castaway. But lookout had better scenic stuff

If you are a WDE person I’d compare LC to Animal Kingdom and CC to Magic Kingdom.

One is all about the natural beauty and culture and the other is a very curated Disney beach experience. There is more to hike and see nature and culture wise on LC but CC has more varied activities and better snorkeling.

I liked the food at LC better but not the set up and I quite enjoy CC food.

A lot of people complain about the pier and if you have mobility challenges there certainly is a lot more walking at LC. Nothing worse than a parks day but CC has less walking and distance to travel so that could be a consideration.

Personally I prefer LC because the beach is so stunning and when we were there we got more surf and I prefer waves, CC is too much like a pool for me, an awesome pool but I like natural ocean. Though waves are very much weather dependent. However I’d never ever say no to CC and would pay good money if I could get a magical day pass to teleport and spend the day there.

We’ve sailed to Castaway 15 times and Lookout once and honestly we’d vote Lookout.

It’s soo much more gorgeous, colorful and complete experience. You could do enough without going to the beach to be fulfilling.

Yea the pier walk wasn’t the highlight but otherwise we were very impressed
