We are staying 1 night in Orlando to go to Discovery Cove. I want the Downtown Disney area. I want to get as close to Disney as I can. I promised DH this trip no Disney parks. I am booked right now at Holiday Inn Resort Orlando – Lake Buena Vista in a suite with a king bed and bunk beds for the kids. I got a great deal but I am not sure what the distance is to Downtown Disney or how it compares to Caribe Royal or any other Downtown Resorts. Your input is greatly appreciated!

I stayed at Holiday Inn Resort LBV a few years ago. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Only downfall would be at it is on 535, which becomes very congested at times. The on-ramp for i4 is less than a mile from the hotel.

I ended up making the switch to Caribe Royale. It looked nicer in the pictures and they have deals on Wednesdays. I was able to get two queens for the night for 160.00 plus takes. It offers free parking which is great. Thanks for all your help :)

Curious to know if you ended up at the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando-Lake Buena Vista? With 3 kids, this is the ideal set up for us. More places should offer the 1 King Bed + 2 Bunk Bed option. We are planning an Easter trip and the rates here can't be beat. We are also considering Holiday Inn Orange Lake. It is so difficult to find something for a family of 5 without breaking the budget!

They went with Caribe. Here is a link to Mousesavers about the Holiday Inn. It has a good description, is one of their preferred hotels and often has special deals if you go via their emails/web page. If you don't get their monthly newsletter and emails sign up for them. You might want to check it out. http://www.mousesavers.com/holiday-inn-resort-lake-buena-vista/

My son still talks about the "Pink Hotel" years later. You will enjoy it, and it is a quick and easy hop over to SW/DC the back way. Don't go to the interstate.

We just returned from a week's stay at Holiday Inn - Orange Lake Resort. We were in two 3br condos in the East Village on the second floor. LOVED the condos, the location and it was perfect for us as we were doing 5 park days. (Though if I were just looking for a resort for a week in FL, this wouldn't be it.) Let me know if you have any questions.

Anyone ever stay at Holiday Inn-Disney Springs area (address is on Hotel Plaza Blvd)? Trying to see if we can walk to downtown Disney from this hotel. Only staying one night then moving on property for our week long trip.

Yes you can. Very close. 1/3 mile.
