DH and I were planning on going Sept.14-20 but wondering if we should wait until Oct to go? We will be traveling with a 4 and 8 yr old plus another couple who has a 9 yr old. Is the temperature better in Oct than Sept? Which is best for avoiding long lines and crowds? TIA

We went in October last year and it was great! Temps were nice (well except for the first two days when it was HOT!!:sunny: ) The lines weren't too bad either...with the exception of Soarin' and Kilimanjaro Safari but we used fast pass for those so it wasn't too bad.

We went last year September 21-30. It was not just HOT it was offensively HOT!!! I have never been in October. I would personally not go that time of year again. Possibly the end of October would be a lot better? The crowds the end of September were not bad, comparable to end of February. With much better weather.

We went Sept 30 - Oct 8th and didn't find it too hot. We're coming from Canada so we're not used to hot weather. Animal Kingdom was the worst for heat, probably because the trees prevent a good breeze from developing.

We were at Disney in mid Oct. last year and it was in the mid-eighties during the day, which was comfortable to me. The heat doesn't really bother me though. We were at Universal last summer when it was over 100 degrees everyday and I didn't mind. We rode a lot of water rides and the wet clothes kept us cool.

We went at the end of Sept. 07 and the heat was fine, it was mostly in the 80's. :sunny:

But be aware of the love bugs. I was really annoyed by them, they were EVERYWHERE! :crazy2: I don't know if they are still there in October. In the mornings, I had to clean them off of the balcony before I could sit out there and eat my breakfast. And before you think "oh she's just grossed out by bugs", I'm not really, they don't bother me...not even spiders. But when there are hundreds of them on your balcony every morning (both dead and alive), it's just gross!! So, *I* would advise waiting until the middle or end of October if someone else can confirm that those love bugs are gone by then! :goodvibes

We Like Oct better than Sept.

The weather & love bugs are both much better at least for us

We love late OCT. Cann't wait for F&W.

We have been in both months and I think I like October better. I wish we can go in those months again, but DD is 7 and has had perfect attendance since Preschool and she is on a Perfect attendance mission. If you get a chance I would recommend MNSSHP. But have kids take a nice afternoon break so they can enjoy themselves in the evening. We are going in August this year talk about a sweatfest. But I am totally looking forward to it considering the horrible winter we had in Chicago this year. I am so done with winter.
