Im trying to decide if its best to get 2 rooms at one of the all star hotels for our family of 6 or is there a different hotel that would be better that we can stay in one?? We want to stay on disney property but are trying to find the best deal for us..

TIA :earsgirl:

IMO, $$ wise, you'd do best to get 2 rooms at the value.

We did this a few years ago, DH, myself and 4 kids. We had 2 connecting rooms (which they will guarantee if your children are under 18) and it was nice having 2 bathrooms, and just a lot more space.

I think the only places you can stay with 6 are the suites or villas, and they might be nice, but pricier.

YOu could also stay in the Ft. Wilderness Cabins if you're into that kind of thing. They have a living room, bedroom and kitchenette in them.

I like the Fort Wilderness Cabins. It has a full kitchen and if you can get a good rate, it would be a value if you eat a meal or two a day in it. They each have a deck so you can sit outside in the quiet either in the morning or afternoon. I think it's one of the best sites for a morning stroll and offers tons to do without going to the parks!

I'd go for 2 rooms. It's so much nicer having 2 bathrooms and 2 TV's.

We have a party of 8 going in December. We are renting pts from a DVC member for a 2 br villa at WL. We will have 3 tv's, 2 bathrooms, a jacuzzi, and a full kitchen. We are saving quite a bit. We have APs but really liked the idea of staying together. I think the extra bathrooms are a very important issue.

I wish I would have known about renting DVC points back in Dec 2001 when we took my MIL, FIL, BIL and his two kids along with myself and DH. We booked three rooms at the WL--courtyard view. We would have been much better off renting a 2bdrm villa at the WL from a DVCer. It would have been cozier and more convienient. Ah, hindsight. What a wonderful thing.

Anyway, it might be more affordable than you think renting DVC points and staying in a villa, not to mention all of the amenities that come with doing so. (See the DVC DIS boards for more info).

But if you choose not to do that, definitely go for two rooms. In Dec 2000 we stayed with four adults in one room at GF and regretted not getting two. We won't make that mistake again.

You'll want to nap but won't be able to b/c someone else wants to watch TV, or you'll need to use the bathroom but it's already in use. Things like that....

We stayed at Ft Wilderness one year when it was 'trailer homes' and not cabins. I was definately pleasantly surprised. We liked the room. We liked the atmosphere. The kids were young and had a great time. I would think that now that they look like log cabins, it would even be better. The bathroom was the largest bathroom I have ever seen actually and there was a vanity in the bedroom with a sink.
