My daughter is not a great lover of burger, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, chips, pizza or pasta with tomato sauce, the things that seem to make up almost every children's menu. She would much rather eat salmon and chicken with vegetables and potatoes. But as she is only 5 can not manage a full size meal.

The "all you can eat" buffets are great for her but we would like to have a meal in one of the "table service" restaurants. I was therefore wondering if anyone could tell me if any of the restaurants will do a half size adult dish for a child?

We ate at Jiko (Animal Kingdom Lodge) and the children's menu had roasted chicken with red potatoes, carrot crisps, and something else I can't recall. It was pretty adult for a kid's menu. Jiko is a "signature" restaurant and quite upscale, if that is what you're looking for.

Hi, Walt's does a grilled Chicken Breast on the childrens menu, with the option of having it with veg instead of chips.

The california grill does more adult children's cuisine but is quite pricey.

Portabello Yacht Club has a fish of the day with potato and vegetables. We are going here.

Jiko and Portabello Yacht Club are both Disney World resturants and are not at DLP.

I'd wondered that also. Poster must have seen the question on the front of the main board :goodvibes

I've just looked at the menu for the Silverspur Steakhouse here and on the children's menu they do chicken breast with texan vegetables as an alternative to fries.

We got back last week and whilst there I noticed that the majority of table service restaurants were now offering an alternative to fries - veg, rice etc.

The kids menu at the Blue Lagoon offers fish bites - these were really nice pieces of fish in batter - not processed at all.

Also, I know it's not a table service restaurant, it's counter service, but the Rendez-Vous des Stars in the Studios serves grown-up food for children. I can remember my DD who loves salmon choosing it in there last year.

Thanks for the help. We may well try out some of ideas given.

I'll make note of the restuarants in WDW for when we finally go there.
