We always go to the Grand Floridian to see the decorations and listen to the Orchestra. Are there any other Hotels that have fabulous decorations and entertainment? What other ideas for fun things for a couple of 50 year olds when we are not in the parks. thanks We leave Saturday dec 2

Not sure about the entertainment but the lobby of Wilderness Lodge at Christmas time is absolutley breathtaking. :thumbsup2

the grand floridian is the best we go to all the resorts to see them and its the best i think but thats me

The Beach Club has an amazing working carousel in the lobby made entirely of Gingerbread and frosting and chocolate.

They all have something different, but I especially thing the Grand Floridian is something not to be missed with the Gingerbread House and the 40 foot tree.

We also loved the carousel at the Beach Club last year.

So far this season I have seen the Contemporary and the Grand Floridian. It is one of our favorite things to do during the holiday season!

OK folks, since I have not done the "Hotel Tour" during the Christmas season, I would love to see some pictures of the various Disney property hotels. :yay:

The Grand Floridian is very special this time of the year. You must schedule yourself a dinner or some other break there and go for a tour and stroll inside and out.

Animal Kingdom Lodge has a beautiful christmas tree, and they have a like a bonfire,so it's mice to sit around when it is cold and loook at the x-mas tree.:)

The lobby of the BWV has some beautiful decorations, including big, heavy hanging garland with lots of glass ornaments. One evening when I was there, the juggler who was usually on the Boardwalk was juggling there because it was unseasonably cold out. Watching to see if he would accidenty juggle something into the breakable ornaments-that sure was entertaining!

I am sorry but what does BWV Stand for? Thanks for eveyones response. I always look forward to going to the Grand Floridian at Christmas. We have a glass of wine and listen to their entertainment. Such a wonderful Christmas time evening!

Hi All

I have to jump in on this. We landed in Providence (RI) at about 5:00 PM tonight after 8 wonderful nights at the BCV.

I would like to put a vote in for the Yacht Club. I tend to get up early (even while on vacation), and would go to the Ale and Compass Lounge for coffee each morning (they open at 6:00, the earliest you can get your refillable mug filled at the Beach Club is 7:00).

Anyway, early morning at the Yacht club was AMAZING! The lobby lights are low, the decorations are elegant, understated, and they very much have an old time traditional feel to them. If you get a chance, check them out.

By the way, the Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Grand Floridian were pretty amazing too (we did a "decoration tour" of each of them)!

I'm still on a Disney high, and DW is already talking about next years trip (the sandy bottom pool was a big hit). Life is good!

Happy Holidays to all.

Without a doubt, go to the Wilderness Lodge at night. In my opinion, no other resort has as much of a Christmas feel as that. Try it. :santa:

Last year Tara and I visited Grand Floridian, Poly, Beach Club, Boardwalk and Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge, and CBR. This year we have been to Contemporary and GF so far. The Yacht Club is definitely on our list since we missed that one. I just realized I don't have the photos from Wilderness Lodge and some of AKL in Photobucket, but here are some others. DD and I did the resorts last year the week between Christmas and New Year's when we wanted to be at Disney, but not in the parks. We made a couple trips and it was fun!

Here are some photos.
Caribbean Beach lobby tree - while these colors are not for everyone they really are stunning in the Caribbean setting.

Grand Floridian - outside lots of Poinsettias and white deer - inside VERY Victorian- FABULOUS. These were taken today on the Yuletide Fantasy Tour which was great!

Last year -
AKL - we learned today that they had difficulty finding animal print/african themed ribbon to use for the bows on the trees at AKL, so they bought a machine that makes the ribbon from any fabric that they can purchase, so now they can have bows for any theme.

for the best dressed resort for christmas is Wilderness Lodge, with GF coming in a close second. We were there 11/18 - 11/26 and we ate at Artist Point for Thanksgiving (delicious!). The lodge is BEAUTIFUL and warm at Christmas. I didn't want to leave.

There is so much to do over the holidays. Holidays around the world, Candlelight Processional, Osborne Lights, MVMCP....

What a beautiful time of the year to visit.

My favorite christmas decorations are at WL, WLV (we own here) and GF. The trees at WL and WLV are breathtaking and I like the gingerbread house at GF.

we usually stay at the Boardwalk...

my votes: well, you already stay at Grand Floridian, but those are the BEST.

I've also liked Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach Club and Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Didn't particularly see anything memorable at Polynesian or Contemporary.
