Which hotel?

If we are only staying one night at Universal - really just to have access to FOTL passes - which hotel do you recommend? I don't know anything about the 3 hotels but the pics of all three look really nice. We want to walk to the two parks and citywalk with two little girls. We would also like to use the resort pool in the evening the night we check-in. I don't know anything about the three pools? Suggestions?

You can't go wrong with any of the hotels. I've stayed at all three and my personal favorite is the Royal Pacific (doesn't hurt that it's also the cheapest!), followed by Portofino, then Hard Rock (we had a bad experience there and have only stayed once, but i know others enjoy it). I like the theming of the Royal Pacific, it truly feels like you're on vacation when you come here, and the pool is very, VERY large with a zero entry area that is good for kids. It's probably a 10 minute walk to IOA. However, both the other pools have waterslides and RPR does not. Hope this helps!

Hi! For closet resort Hard Rock then RPR then PBH. Best hotel but farthest, I think is PBH. Best hotel for children under 8 or 9 the RPR or PBH. Best hotel for 8or 9 and above,the HRH.As mentioned they are all wonderful hotels.(IMHO)

RPR is our fav , have stayed at PBH twice, first time was not a good experience and moved back to RPR, but went last July, and it was lovely, but just a bit to quiet for our DD round the pools ,and it is probably the nicest and biggest rooms, but RPR is our fav.
If its just for FOTL just go with the cheapest which is usually RPR, you will not be disappointed
