Which hotel would you pick?

We have always stayed at Royal Pacific (because it was the cheapest). However, when pricing hotels for this stay, Portofino and HRH are just $5.00 more. If you had your choice, which hotel would you pick. My mom travels with a scooter, so something that is accessible. The only child in the group is a girl age 14. We spend most of the day at the parks, with maybe just a short swim at the pool and dinner at Citiwalk. Any suggestions?

Portofino all the way, baby.

Royal Pacific is plenty nice -- I've certainly stayed there and enjoyed the heck out of the place. But the Portofino is on another level.

For $5 more I would think about trying PBH. We have never stayed there due to our love for RPR and for being so close to the parks. The size of room really does not matter to much to us, since we spend most of the time in the parks or around the hotel common areas.

i've been to pbh a couple of times but many times at hrh and rph.

for $5 more a night over your first choice, pbh would be a good deal since you will have more space.

it is not a place i would return to as i prefer a closer resort near the parks and city walk.
and i prefer the closeness of different food selections at rph better.

i don't like the long walk at night to get back to pbh.
(water taxis are sometimes full when i need to leave and i would have to walk then.)

but, if you have never tried pbh, try it for that cheap price. you'll like the size of it very much.

if something else was the reason you wanted to stay there, i would have given my two cents and said, go rph.

Our favorite is the HRH. Its such a short walk to the parks, the rooms are great, the staff is wonderful, we love the ice cream shop and the Kitchen, and we love the pool.

My wife and I just got back from a 3 night stay at HRH and it is our favorite, much shorter walk to parks, we spent some time on our last day looking at the other 2 resorts planning a future stay with our kids, in my opinion PB was beautiful but the water taxis seemed more crowded and a longer wait, and the resort is very spread out would be nice I think for romantic getaway, then we took water taxi over to RP was also very nice but same problem with water taxis seemed to be very crowded and longer wait time to get on. I think the HRH with the much shorter walk is the way to go even at more money, I noticed on the way out of the parks every night the lines waiting at citywalk for the water taxis were very long and we could be back at our resort in 5 minutes. I think any of the resorts are great but I think we will stay at HRH with the kids.

I hardly ever take the water taxi from RPR. It's about a 7-10 minute walk to IOA and 10-13 minutes to US. Granted HRH is the closest to the parks especially US but RPR is a close second.:thumbsup2

Between PBH and HRH, my vote is for PBH. Our (DW and I) favorite hotel is RPR. We've stayed at PBH a couple of times and enjoyed both stays. we've stayed at HRH once, and it was our least favorite.

We love the Hard Rock Hotel. It is by far our favorite. We use the walking path to go to the parks instead of the boats. The walk is beautiful!

We have stayed at all 3 resorts. Our favorite is PBH. However, I don't think it's a great place to stay with a scooter. Lots of steps to get anywhere. And, you really have to use the water taxis. It's a long walk otherwise.

When I took my mom, who was using a scooter, I chose Royal Pacific and she enjoyed it.

If you want a change, HRH would be good if for no other reason than it is an easy walk to the parks.

I vote PBH, the pools are nicer and so are the rooms. Also they have the best semi self serve restaurant with great pizza and sandwiches. The resort also seems nicer to walk around at night time. The walk is not that far to Universal if you cut through the parking lot behind Hard Rock, it places you right at the bus stop and from there the entrance to Universal.
