Which hotel should I book?

We're now thinking of staying onsite for two nights prior to our cruise, rather than one. Which hotel should we stay at?! I've had a look on hotels.com and I've narrowed it down to three choices:

Pop Century- £99
Caribbean Beach- £165
Port Orleans Riverside- £165

We've always fancied staying at both Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans Riverside but £99 for Pop is VERY tempting! What would you guys do? Do you think it's worth paying an extra £66 for either of the two mods?

By the way, we won't be visiting any parks during this time. We'll probably just use the pools and shop etc.

Hotels are a personal thing, we don't enjoy the value resorts at all, stayed at ASMovies which was probably the most basic hotel room I have ever stayed in. Visited POP for lunch last August, had a look around, it was just far too busy for us would never stay there. Saying that others love the values.
Also had an evening meal at Caribbean Beach food court, looked a better resort than the values but still not our sort of place.
We do like POR/FQ or I would splash out a little more and go for OKW but that would cost you about £210-220 for 2 nights.
If you like values then save your money for something else.
Only other thing is maybe wait for Disney to drop the rates direct, you wouldn't be paying rack rate for room only in Sept, discounts will be coming nearer.

Thanks Wayne. Having thought about it, I think it makes more sense to book a mod because of the little extras (such as better pools and a fridge in the room). The question is, which mod?! We're staying at SSR after our cruise and POR looks a little too similar. CBR looks like a fun resort that's reminiscent of CSR in some ways (we stayed there in 2009). It's a difficult one. :confused3

I checked Disney's prices and they were much more expensive than Hotels.com. Do you know when the discounts start coming out?

If you do go with hotels.com Quidco are offering 12% cashback so would bring the moderates down to £145 from £165, or Pop down to £87 from £99

I have stayed at POR and loved this place it was so relaxing and the scenery was really nice and can recommend this resort. I would aslo like to try Caribbean Beach.

I havent stayed there but I would personally choose POR some of the pictures I have seen it looks beautiful

I know that its not on your list, but if you think POR is a little too similar to SSR...how about POFQ? You have all the amenities of both POFQ and POR, great foodcourts, the river boat to Downtown Disney etc :goodvibes And they've just been refurbished :thumbsup2

You all know how much I love POFQ. However as someone mentioned, after SSR something totally different would be nice and if it were only for a couple of days I think I may go with CBR as it is quite different in terms of theming.

Thanks for the replies! :goodvibes

POFQ was more expensive and we don't want to spend loads seeing as we've got flights, a cruise and almost two weeks at SSR to pay for. :scared1:

If we don't go for POR this time, we'll definitely make it there one day (along with POFQ).

I agree. While CBR isn't as traditionally pretty as POR/POFQ, the lively and colourful theming really appeals. I think it would stand us in good stead for our cruise.
