My husband won a two night vacation which we plan to add to our 5 night onsite WDW stay. The two hotels in Orlando he can choose from are Renaissance World Gate and Wyndam Orlando Resort. Has anyone stayed at either of these hotels? We will have a family of 5 and will probably visit Sea World or Universal during this time.

I have stayed at RWG last May. It is a nice hotel. The rooms were clean, the pools are nice--just normal hotel pools, but they were clean and plenty of towels were provided. The room we were in had two double beds, a coffee maker and a little fridge. There is a nice little deli/sandwich bar type place, a regular rest with a bar and a small gift shop. Guest services was extremely helpful. I was looking for a little mending kit and called the front desk to see if they had any in the gift shop and was told they had them at the desk and they sent one up with the bellman right away.

We stayed at the Renaissance World Gate in September. I would recommend this hotel and plan on staying there again when we go this October. The rooms were fairly large with two double beds and possibly room for a cot, if you needed one. Small fridge, large TV, plenty of drawers and a safe. We got a great rate thru Priceline and really enjoyed our stay, especially the back way to the Disney Parks. You can get that information from the front desk when you check in, if you need it. We've never stayed at the Wyndam Orlando Resort so I can't compare RWG with Wyndam but maybe someone else on this board will be able to fill you in. You can't go wrong chosing the Renaissance.

Stayed at the Wyndham last week for one night (through priceline) and we would stay there again. Typical hotel room but I liked it. Staff was very friendly. Checked in very late and out early the next am so we didn't get to explore. The drive to WDW is quick since the resort is located at the corner of Sand Lake and International drive. Was about 10-15 min to the main gate on I4.

WE actually stayed at both of these hotels in April. They are both equally nice, but different. The Wyndham is much closer to Universal(5min)It has more of a "resort' feel. It is spread out,2 pools.exterior corridors, walking distance to alot without being noisy. Bands playing out weekends out by the pool. The REnaissance is much closer to Disney. If you decide to stay here ask the front desk for the short cut to disney. It takes you through the back of the property and you miss all the traffic. It is more like a hotel. High rise, interior corridors, smaaler pool that is enclosed in a courtyard. The only thing I didn't like about this hotel is it's in a kind of run down area, although there is also alot you could walk to here, not as much as the Wyndham. If you're doing mainly Universal, definately go with the Wyndham.

I would stay away from the RWG, we had a bad experience there this past April. We aren't complainers, by far and have stayed at many no frills places but the RWG was terrible. Our room was musty and really out dated, it looked like it hadn't been updated since the 70's, I seriously had the same furniture when I was child-lol!! The bathroom wasn't very clean and it was moldy. We found the day personal to be very nice, we even got to check in early, but the night time staff was very unhelpful and rude. Like I said we don't normally complain and I've seen people give the RWG good reviews but they must've had renovated rooms different then ours because it was really not nice. The hotel was booked solid from some kind of giant family reunion so unfortunetly switching rooms was out of the question. It was only for 1 night, through Priceline but I honestly didn't even think it was worth the $$ and we only paid 45.00.

Good luck with your decision!!
