Which Hotel is best for my needs?

We are going to Disney mid August..and I am trying to choose the best deal. We need a suite, so I had narrowed it down to Holiday Inn Family Suites, or Doubletree Guest Suites. The Doubletree ones seem very nice, but they are pricey??
Has anyone stayed at these or others, and can provide a recommendation? I like the fact that the Holiday Inn has the KIDSUITES, plus the sofa bed in the living room...but the Doubletree is on site (is it a good location?) and I am trying to figure out what is a better deal. If we stay off site, we are just going to get tickets for 3 seperate days (since we want to see Sea World as well). Is there any great deals for staying on site? I don't know what other hotels on site have a suite...
Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Double Tree is the last resort on Hotel Plaza Blvd. It is on Disney property, but not "on site" proper, so to speak. It is within walking distance from DTD if you like to walk. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, but the hotel itself was on the shabby side. I didn't use the shuttle service as I had my own car. The set up is one bedroom and the couch is a sleeper sofa.

HIFS is not within walking distance, but has an excellent reputation for family service. I've not stayed there, but relatives have and they enjoyed it immensely.

There are any number of on site WDW resorts that have suites. There are also the DVC home away from home resorts that have studios, one and two (and sometimes three) bedroom villas. You do not need to be a DVC member to stay at them. The deluxe resorts have suites and concierge level.

They are much more costly than HIFS or DTS, though.

Check out my HIFS review a few posts down. All the parks (WDW, SW & UO/IOA) are all within 15 minutes of HIFS. Very convenient!


I would recommend HIFS any day!
