Which hotel is best for adults?

Which hotel is best for adult only? I just don't want to be trampled by screaming crying kids....I get enough of that at work thanks

Damo's right. Even if there are kids there are a bunch of places to escape them.

Royal Pacific would be my second choice...Portofino would be first. RP is more "family" oriented, but quieter than HRH...PBH is "adult-ish" and quieter than RPR.

PBH. We have stayed there twice and did not see alot of kids; mostly babies and not alot of older children. Lovely Villa pool to relax by and a hidden Hillside Pool, which had NO ONE there but the two of us!! Any kids in attendance will usually be found at the beach pool but, if you are trying to avoid children, why would you even visit this one?

We did a 3/3 split stay between RPR and PBH last month. RPR is swarming with kids and there is no getting away from squealing crying babies/kids since there is only one pool. We’ve been there several times before and it didn’t bother us too much since we kind of knew what to expect. When we switched to Portofino (our first time actually), well, it was a different story. It felt a lot more “grown-up” and more quiet. Lots of “nooks and crannies” for a stroll or to enjoy a cup of coffee (or whatever beverage one may prefer). Villa pool was wonderful. Unfortunately, there were a few kids jumping in and splashing (parents completely ignoring it) but other than that, the rest of them were rather well-behaved and most of them gravitated towards family pool anyway. Very nice music fed through the speakers… We have since been back for just one night for Harbor Nights and I still think it’s the most “grown-up” out of all three. I still love RPR and its tropical feel, but for a quiet getaway, I would definitely choose Portofino. Going back for a quick two-nights getaway for their next Harbor Nights (loved it!) and for a couple more nights for my b-day a few days before Christmas; hopefully it’ll have the same relaxed feel even during Holidays

RPR's pool is the largest in the city of Orlando so there is usually somewhere you can go to avoid the kids. I ate lunch poolside at the Bula Bar Friday and never saw a kid! Well there was one baby but it was a duckling. The duck and the little flapper walked within inches of my feet looking for a handout then joined the drake in the pool. The duck jumped out of the pool but the duckling couldn't make it. Some guy that was watching them went and got a pool attendant to help him out. I heard the pool attendant ask his boss if he could and the boss said to leave him alone. I finished my shrimp ceasar, which was excellent by the way, and took the flat cracker over to a lounge chair near the pool. It was no time before I had a waddle of ducks including the flapper at my feet. The duck was actually eating out of my hand. The drake was about 5 feet away and the duck backed him off a couple of times. Is that where "Henpecked" comes from?

Going to a family theme park destination, screaming crying kids are a given. Since they are highly concentrated all over the place, you will not be able to fully get away from them.

However, that said, I will second the notion that the Portofino does seem to be the most adult oriented. That is where we always stay although we do have kids. Last trip we hauled 5 of them there, ours and nieces. According to your siggie, you stayed there in 2004 - did you see many kids at that time? What you experienced then would probably be the norm for the Portofino.

As others have mentioned, most kids will be at the Beach pool. Depending on the time of year, there will occasionally be some in the Villa pool because that is where the bocce ball court is located. Kids love to play bocce ball and then take a dip. But every time we have been there, there has been absolutely nobody at the hillside pool. I think most guests have no idea it even exists. It is on the opposite side of the harbor from the other pools and there is no restaurant or bar service really close by, so it is not very popular. But is it absolutely peaceful if that is what you want

Also, Trattoria has a tv and couches for the kids, so as a restaurant, it usually has a fair number of kids in it. You may want to check it out before you eat there.

FWIW, we will sometimes walk over to the Hard Rock pool just because the Portofino does have such a lack of kids.

We love Harbor Nights too. We did it last Thanksgiving weekend. Met lots of great locals and some celebrities; had a nice chat with Liv Tyler in the champagne line

For a kidless day, try renting a cabana at the Villa Pool.
