Which Hotel Has the Most Dogs??

I think in all the years I've been going to Universal, I've only seen three dogs.

All three are equally pet friendly. All three have room service menus for the pets. So, I don't think one necessarily has more dogs than another, it would be dependent on who shows up with their pets at any given time.

But like Damo said, I haven't seen very many dogs compared to guests, perhaps one per visit. I honestly see more dogs in a single trip to Home Depot than I have ever seen in all my trips to Universal combined.

Just wondering?? :lmao: Do they have any pet free rooms for people with allergies??? :scared1: :upsidedow

Yes, you need to make sure and request a non-pet room when you make your reservations. If you have already made them or are booking on-line, call them and ask for a notation to be added to your reservation.

I've seen a million pets at RPR during the hurricanes. I had 2 dogs but others had parrots and other exotic animals. As a rule I only see one or two pets a visit and I'd have to say RPR is where I've seen the most.

I was at HRH 5 years ago and I only saw a few dogs. At frist I didn't want to stay there because they take pets but the more I thought about it some dogs are cleaner then people. LOL I am stay at PBH in December for Christmas, I am so excited I can't wait til I go, dogs or no dogs

Last October we stayed in HRH in a deluxe room on the first floor which is where the guests with pets stay. I saw lots of dogs and it was so much fun! You could hear them bark when walking down the hall but other then that, our room was quiet and there was no smell in our room or the hallway. One thing though is that the location was excellent as we were close to the exit that takes you to the walkway to CW and the pool. No real view to boast about but thas is secondary to us. If we are not staying club the next time we go to HRH, I am bringing my 5 pound Yorkie just so I can get that location!

I'm sorry, the only thing I do not like about the Universal resorts is the dog thing. I'm paying close to $300 a night, and I have to hear dogs barking and worry about stepping in dog doo. Although I am a dog lover. I can't see myself following my dog(170 lb English Mastiff) around the grounds with a plastic bag. I don't get it.

Some people get a big kick out of taking their pets to the Universal Resort Hotels. We have only done it when we were notified that we were in a mandatory evacuation zone and the option would be to either let them loose and hope they weather the hurricane and dodge the 40+ trees we lost or put them in the house and hope that the flood waters don't drowned them. RPR and HRH were both very cool about taking the dogs without the proof of bordatella shots. Following them around with a baggie was a pain but at least they were one less thing to worry about. We have stayed on the 6th floor of HRH with the dogs. My black lab loved the low windows and sat endlessly staring at the people around the pool. It was his last hurricane because we had to put ole' Blue down and I miss him every day. I've had dogs all my life and have never had a dog that continually barked.

Sorry you lost your dog. :sad1:

I put mine in a kennel when I go on vacation, or have them stay with relatives.

Different strokes for different folks.:goodvibes

We do not have dogs because of allergies with our son. I LOVE seeing the dogs at Universal! Portofino is the cleanest resort we have ever stayed in. We have never seen "evidence " of dogs being around. When we stay on the ground floor it is fun to see all the dogs go by and visit with them. We have made many friends at the resort this way- dog owners are so friendly!

So sad to lose a loved pet!

I run the risk of stepping in dog doo going to the supermarket, so the risk of stepping in something doesn't bother me at all. That risk is everywhere. That said, the grounds around the hotels are spotless and I have yet to see dog excrement anywhere. Pigeon poop yes, dog no.

As for the dogs barking, again, we go several times a year for a week at a time. I have yet to hear a dog barking, let alone for any length of time. The resorts are so big and the dedicated pet rooms so minimal, your chances of being housed next to a barking one is minimal. And they are great at granting requests of not being in a pet room.

People have reported here that Loews has been very responsive when there is a problem animal. It is their policy that if your dog is creating a nuisance, something must be done including moving it to the park kennels.

We too leave our 2 large breed dogs at home. Their plane tickets would be more than our 5 alone :goodvibes

I think it great that people have the option to bring their pets.

You do not have to stay on a floor with dogs. The only reason we were given the "pet" floor was because our assigned deluxe room did not have a sofa bed because the prior guests broke it. They offered us the only other deulxe room that was available. It happened to be in the smoking section. I asked to check out the room first to make sure it did not smell like smoke. The room smelled fine (although the hallway had an odor) but when we saw we were near the pets, we decided to accept the room. In my many, many visits to UO resorts, I have never encountered dog doodoo. That was the first trip I heard barking and it was only when I was walking by the room. I am glad they make it pet friendly and can maintain their excellent standards at the same time.

During our June of 2007 stay at the HRH we saw one dog at least I think it was a dog. This small almost rodent like creature went running across the small lobby area as you go out to the pool followed by a lady yelling "come back here Chee Chee". I am pretty sure it was a dog!

Motherfletcher,
So sorry to hear about your dog. He sounds like he loved Universal as much as his family!

I respect your opinion, but I disagree.

IMO they have lowered their standards by allowing dogs.

I happen to like a "quiet" room location..I would be VERY DISSATISFIED if I had a barking dog next to me..

I live with one every day next door and I would like to get away from it..
How rude..Bring your dog in at night so the neighbors don't have to listen to your dog yelp at 9:30 at night..

We all have different experiences. I have stepped in dog doo on the grounds on more than one occasion while playing on the grass area near the boat launch.

I was also in a first floor room where there were at least 3-4 dogs stationed nearby, and due to the Hotel being booked , I was not able to move.

There are many people who have no problem seeing and hearing dog's in a 4 star hotel.

I am not one of them.
