Which Hotel: Boardwalk, Yatch, or Beach?

My husband and I want to go back to Disney really bad this winter break but are not goign to be able to fit it into our schedule so I am planning one for the summer months. The reason I am wondering which one is because we know we want to stay over by Epcot because it is our favorite park and because we stayed by Magic Kingdom before and we would like a change of pace. We are a young couple and just want to go somewhere and get away from our lives for just a week.

I would like to hear you vote and then what you like or what you didn't like about these three. Thank you.

We didn't care for YC, I guess a little too stuffy for us. BC and BW are very nice I guess I'd have to give the edge to BW because of being on the BW, more to do and just as close to Epcot and a little closer to MGM. It's a very nice walk to MGM from there.

All those resorts are very nice, we love being able to walk to Epcot and MGM.
Yacht and Beach Club share a much better pool than the one at Boardwalk, if a great pool is important to you.

Best area of WDW to stay! We prefer the BWI. THe walk to Epcot and MGM is fantastic, and also you can walk to the Yacht and BEach Club (Beaches and Cream!) and the Swan and the Dolphin, if you like to see the different places to stay. We like to eat at different resort restaurants.

Another vote for BW! Because Jellyrolls is there It's just a fun place and I'm sure it would be nice to be able to close the place down without having to worry about transportation back (or a long walk back) to your resort.

I like the YC! It's a little quieter than the others but still very kid friendly. I like having everything so close by but being removed a little from it when I go back to my room. The view of the Boardwalk at night from the YC is beautiful! I also love the full balconies at YC. I've been to many of the resorts on property but I've been to YC four years in a row now.

Well, I've only been to WDW once...so my opinion may not count for much!

We LOVED LOVED LOVED the Boardwalk sooooo much!!! Everyone said it wouldn't be long before we planned another trip to Disney and they were right!! But we can't imagine staying anywhere else (at least for awhile!).

The hotel is just beautiful...the grounds are lovely, the lobby is amazing, everything is just so charming! I love the atmosphere on the boardwalk in the evenings...there is just SOOO much to do! Epcot is a short walk, and MGM was a little too far of a walk for me (back problems) but the boat is easily accessible!

It's sometimes hard for me to imagine that someone doesn't like the BWI, even though I know there are folks who don't, or prefer something else!

I highly recommend Boardwalk Inn being that you are a young couple w/o kids. There is a lot to do on the Boardwalk geared towards adults (jelly rolls and another dance place, not familiar with either), ESPN Club, nice restaurants.

BW or BC are both great places. Definately try Jellyrolls when you're there. It's addictive. BC has the better pool hands down. It''s only a 5 min. walk to BW from BC. Only BC/YC people can use stormalong bay. Good luck!

I've stayed at BWI and YC but not BC. BWI is my favorite resort. We are a young couple without kids yet. Both resorts are really pretty and the rooms are nice. Both were quiet. I just preferred the decor at BWI and all the things to do. I love Flying Fish, and Jellyrolls is fun. Comparing YC to BC, I thought YC had fewer children though I was only in BC's lobby. YC/BC has a great pool so that's something to consider.

Another vote for BWI.....The quiet pool is perfect place for young couple. BC is nice but pool has many many kids.

May I also suggest the Dolphin. Rooms great nice atmosphere.

Of the three, Yacht Club is our favorite, full balconies, nice views of Epcot and Boardwalk across the lake, good restaurants and great service.

I just stayed at 4 WDW resorts and hated the BWI,you can hear noise from the next room,mousekeeping stinks,one room I was in smelled bad and the toliet backed up,they then switched me to a room with black mold in the bathroom and cobwebs on the ceiling and I spent the night listening to the man in the next room snore,even when they upgraded me to a deluxe room for free(usually 450.00 a night) they couldn't pay me to ever stay there again.I did look around the Yacht Club and thought it was very nice and I wish I had stayed there.Please do yourself a favor and avoid BWI,I was really looking forward to it and it was a dump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! That's awful! I hope they've taken care of the cleanliness aspect since you were there. As for the noise, unfortunately, it's rampant in most hotels .... even in WDW, sadly.

I was there less than a week ago so I am sure the Mousekeeping issue isn't greatly inproved and I did stay at 3 other deluxe resorts this trip.(WL,AKL,and POly and noise wasn't a problem at any of them.

Thank you for all of the replies. I will not be booking for about another month or so because my AAA travel agent said that new AAA rates will be coming out in January or Febuary, so keep the comments coming in. We are using them to make our decision. As far as staying at the dolphin, it would be nice and we did look into it but it looks like we can't do a dining package while choosing that resort. If I am wrong let me know and we might consider that too.

Stormalong Bay is what you really want! trust me, you'll HATE the Boardwalk.

We stayed at the YC in 1998 on our honeymoon and loved it! So much so, we just got back from a return trip with our DD5 and DS3! We also own DVC at the BCV and love it there too! We have visited the BW many times, but have never stayed there. We love the YC for its full balconies, lake views and great service. We love the BCV because it is home. But I truly feel you cannot go wrong with any Epcot resort, the location is awesome! Whatever you decide, have a great trip!
