Which GV if going with toddlers, SSR or Kidani?

I am in the beginning stages of planning a trip with DH, 3 of my adult kids (plus two spouses) and 2 new grandbabies, who will be about 13 1/2 months on our trip.

I know both gv's have stairs but I see that SSR has more carpeted areas and that made me think it might be better for crawling or just walking children.

Any advice for traveling with kids that age?

Thanks!

Have you considered Jambo House which is a one story, no stairs to worry about with the babies crawling around?

Thanks! I have thought about that but I'm not sure there will be availability there when I can book and, truthfully, I kind of like the Kidani/SSR floor plan better for us.

However, if Jambo is available, I might consider it.

Is it possible to request a baby gate for the stairs from housekeeping ?

I have no idea, but good question!

Now, I just realized I have enough points for 6 nights in a standard SSR gv or 5 nights in AKV savanna view...decisions, decisions!!

Of those choices I'd do SSR unless some are just hung up on the animals. Younger adults might like easier access to DS. There are certainly other options including a 2 BR plus a studio which will remove the stairs, give additional resort choices and be cheaper.

Thanks for the opinion, Dean! I also just realized that I could get an extra night at SSR with my points if we stay 'standard', so I'm leaning that way. I'd like us all to be together this trip so a gv is how I'd prefer to go this time since one DS, wife and baby live on the west coast and we are on the east. I wouldn't think it would be likely that separate villas would be guaranteed to be in close proximity at any resort, right? That would solve the stair problem, though.

Good point about access to DS. We can do AKV when the babies are a little older and will appreciate it more. Maybe, after this trip, I can save up my points better for a longer trip there ;)

With a request proximity is unlikely to be a problem at SSR and not very likely at AKV either.

When you said 'either' about AKV, did you mean it's not likely to be a problem getting villas close to each other? Or, that it's not likely that we would get villas close to each other at AKV? :)

Neither should be a problem but maybe a little more at AKV than SSR.
