I know I will get a ton of different opinions on this, but would like to know which book would be most useful for a family of 5, trying to get the most out of each day at the parks.

Thanks,
Pam

I used both the "official" Birnbaum's guide and the Unofficial Guide to Disney World. Some of the best information I got, however, came from these boards and the DisneyDollarless list!:D

I really like the Unofficial Guide. There's a ton of information and it's unbiased. I think that the boards have the most current information. Things seem to change quickly at DW. But that's just my opinion. Everyone has their personal favorites.

Hi pstepka,

I believe this recently completed poll might answer your question: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=382783 .

If you're looking to get the most out of your time in the park, I think the touring plans in the Unofficial Guide are your best bet. Let me know if you have any questions about the Guide - I'll be happy to answer them.

Sincerely,

Len

I like Unofficial too. Though some people think it's snarky.

I was a big fan of Rita Aero's guide but it's now very outdated and there hasn't been a new one out for quite some time. Of the current books, I would go with the Unofficial Guide.

I like the Passporter as well. It's good for very organized people....like me :)

I used the Unofficial Guide, and this board, and was able to make the most out of my time there.

I really liked the Passporter. I also found a lot of useful info on this site and a couple of others on the internet. I bought the Unofficial guide, but it left a bad taste in my mouth, b/c of the attitude. Passporter!

I agree about the Passporter great book & the Offical one a must for first timers But , I just love Walt Disney World for Couples by the Perlmutters. it is very descriptive about the resorts almost takes you there & has great maps of each resort. The new one comes out July 22 got mine pre-ordered at B&N.

How about a completely biased opinion? :D Seriously, as a reviewer of Jennifer & Dave's Passporter book this past year, I will say it's the best one you'll find. The attention to detail is second to none - much more than you'll find in the official guidebook. It's written with love and you'll be hard pressed to find sarcasm or attitude when it's time to critique something. Great maps accompany the book and one of the neatest features are the Passpockets to store travel documents in. It really is a hands on guide and the best one for a first timer or a seasoned Disney traveler - it's the only one I use now.

I would use the boards and more than one book. I like the Birnbaums, Passporter, and, if you're traveling with kids, the Unofficial Guide to WDW with Kids is excellent. Yet, I find the regular unofficial guide to be unnecessarily rough on things I like. Go figure...

Kungaloosh!
Mort.
