Can anyone tell me which store would be my best choice - we will be staying at OKW and I will have a car for the first 2 days, so, my plan is to go to the grocery store after we check in - however, since we have always just used the grocery stop with town car service, I really have no idea what store to go to.

Will be for basics - bread, milk, eggs, cereal, juice, water, etc. nothing fancy.

TIA

If you go to the end of Hotel Blvd (where the DTD hotels are), you can go straight across to the Crossroads center and there is Goodings. It is the closest store, but it's also the most expensive. I usually turn left at the light instead of going straight across, and if you drive a little way, there will be a Winn Dixie on your right in a shopping center. These prices are very reasonable. There is also a Publix just past the Premier Outlet Mall, if you are familiar with that area, but I still feel that Winn Dixie is the closest and has a good selection (I almost always stay at OKW).

I had heard the Goodings was expensive, so the Winn Dixie sounds perfect. Do they have a good selection?

THANKS!!
Paula

I seem to split my shopping between Winn Dixie and Super Walmart. Super WalMart has great prices and a nice selection.
Follw the directions until you get to the Crossroads intersection.
Turn right follow 535 to the intersection of 192 and take a left, go about 2 miles and Super WalMart is on the right, right after Midievil times. It tends to be crowded, but, the prices are really good.
I also really like Winn Dixie, prices are decent and the selection is pretty good.

I just LOVE my super walmart here and I am planning to do my grocery shopping there when I go in August....even with sales in other stores going on, walmart almost always comes out a bit cheaper:D

Sorry, you can't get closest and cheapest. You've got to chose one or the other. :-)

The closest is Goodings at the Crossroads. But you won't find them to be cheapest. For that I've had good luck at the two Publix in the area. One is at the intersection of 535 and 192, the other is just beyond the Preimum Outlet Mall.

A compromise might be the Winn-Dixie a few blocks down the on 535 from the crossroads. Drive out Hotel Plaza Blvd and turn left at the lights to get there.

Personally I like the Publix and you can combine it with a trip to the Premium Outlet Mall.

If you get directions to the outlet mall, just drive past the outlet mall on Vineland and the Publix will be on your left.

At least now I have some idea of what is where. It looks like I will actually have the car from Sun - Tues, so plenty of time to shop.

Thanks again,

Super WalMart is great. Usually crowded. And I would avoid the time after park closing at all cost. We have been there in April about 11 PM and spend over an hour in line to check out. Day times do not seem to be as long a wait. They usually keep all check outs open. Hope this helps.

We'll be taking Happy Limo from the airport to our resort. They told me they'd stop at either Publix or Albertsons. We don't have either of these stores in our area so I don't know what either store is like. Anyone have any suggestions?

We were bored at like 3 AM on our last trip (ASMo) and decided to go buy a few supplies at Wal Mart. We went to one west of Disney (via I-4 West) but ended up in the middle of nowhere at a Wal Mart not on a big strip or anything. Anyone have any idea where we were?

I think you may have been to the one in Haines City. But not sure its the closest one west on I-4.
