Which grocery store do you prefer???

If you are looking for something close. At the end of Hotel Plaza Blvd, which is directly accross from Downtown Disney,is Crossroads Plaza. that is where Goodings is located.Open 24/7. But the prices are very high. It's like going shoping at 7/11 prices.. Instead of going into Crossroads plaza, take a left and travel just two miles to Winn Dixie. Fair prices and it's a full service supermarket.Out front is an ABC liquor store if you like a high ball at night. Don't like that travel 10 mins past both and take a right toward Universal Studios and bingo you have what ever u want.... :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

I completely agree with kathleena....Publix are bright clean stores that usually have very good produce and meat and a great selection of natural/organic foods. I shop at Publix often here at home (though Piggly Wiggly and BiLo are closer....and not too bad). I also love that you don't need a shopper card to get sale prices at Publix...great for folks on vacation.

Winn-Dixie just doesn't have the selection of things I want and need. And when I lived up north that Winn-Dixie card was just something else cluttering up my purse. Even since we moved to the south, when Winn-Dixie was the closest supermarket I rarely went there....I'd go up the road to Publix.

So where is this new Super Target? Is this the one on the way from the airport that we saw in December?

Sam's Club and the new Super Target are on route 192. Drive down Hotel Plaza Blvd. At the traffic light, with Crossroads Shopping Center/Goodings directly ahead of you, turn RIGHT. You'll be on route 535. Follow this road all the way until it dead-ends into route 192. Turn LEFT onto 192. Super Target is just a short distance up the road on your LEFT. Sam's is a little further up the road and also on the LEFT. They're both great stores.

We like the Publix. Always have a nice selection and very easy to get to.

Thanks for all the wonderful info. Last time we went we shopped at BJ's and Winn Dixie. But we were staying at OKW, this time we'll be at BCV so I thought I should check out other stores.

We go to Winn Dixie. We don't usually buy a ton of stuff, so this is okay for us. Although, after reading the previous posts about the Super Target, I might have to check that out.

I've been a Publix fan for 30 years. They are very nice stores.

Factoid: Publix were the first stores to get bar code scanners. At least that's what they said when they got them.

CarolAnnC and I usually hit the Publix on 192 out near the Orange Lake Country Club. I prefer that one because it's far enough off property that it's not overrun with tourists, yet still close enough to get to fast. I exit off property near the AKL and turn right behind the Studio 1 souvenir shop and run that down, to avoid some of the traffic, to 192 and just head west a bit.

I'm glad to know about the Super Target...so the next time we arrive to find we've forgotten something important (like one of the kids' coats when its cold, or shorts for one of the kids when its warm....we've done both!) we'll know were we can go find an affordable replacement.

Thanks for the directions!
