Which grocery stop?!?

I have reserved a Tiffany van and requested a grocery stop (20 min.) but which one? We want to pick up snacks and some beer and I am not sure if the grocery stores in FL have alcohol departments. Also, I prefer to save money and fancy brands are not important. I believe we have a choice of Publix or Goodings or something else? We will be arriving at 10:40 a.m. so a 24 hour store is not a concern. Thanks for you suggestions!

Publix definitely has an alcohol dept for Been & Wine and is cheaper than Goodings. .

Goodings has an outstanding beer and wine department as well as a walk-in cigar humidor! I have heard as Maxwell says that they are more expensive. I myself prefer the selection.

Gooding's is VERY,VERY expensive. Publix carriers all the national brands, and unless you are looking for some very special type of beer, Publix should be fine and you will save a lot of money.

There is a Winn-Dixie a little ways up the road from Goodings (corner of Lake and Apopka-Vinland) and they are reasonably priced. We went there for groceries our last trip and didn't find their prices or selection any different than our grocery stores here at hom. There is also an ABC liquor store in the parking lot of Winn-Dixie if the grocery store doesn't have what you need.

I agree, Goodings is very expensive! Haven't been to Publix, so can't comment on how it compares to the others, although it has to be cheaper than Goodings!

Publix it is! (as we don't have Winn-Dixie as one of our choices). A BIG THANK YOU to all who replied. My husband is bringing cigars from home and we don't need any fancy brand--we are Miller Lite people!
