Which of these hotels would you reccommend for a family of 4 inclucing a 9yo and 12 yo? Any good or bad experiences you can share?

I swear by the Hilton Anaheim. Great staff, nice location and if you are lucky, a view of Disneyland from your room! It's a convention hotel, so it can be a bit quieter as well.

My favorite is Carousel Inn, but would also consider the following if Carousel was booked: Best Western Park Place, Tropicana, Del Sol, Fairfield Inn and Howard Johsnon. These are all located right across the street from the main entrance on Harbor Blvd.

I've stayed at each of these and have found them all to be clean and provide enough space. We don't spend much time in our room, so all we need is a clean, comfortable place to sleep, which these all provide. If you plan on spending more time in your room or using the pool, then the Howard Johnson is great. It provide more of a resort feel, than just a place to sleep. You actually have a choice of two decent sized pools, while the other places have your average backyard pool.

One drawback of the HoJo is no microwave. Not a necessity, but nice to have to heat up leftovers or pop popcorn. Also, there is no continental breakfast at HoJos. Not that its all that great at the other places, but it's nice to grab some toast and fruit before heading into the park.

The Carousel has an awesome breakfast room up on the 5th floor, overlooking the park. A nice start to the day and you can view the fireworks from here if you didn't make it all day in the park.

hi we stayed at the hilton last year and i would recommend this hotel it was very clean and quite the staff was great we had a problem with are toilet and they came right up they only thing is they charge to park which was 12.00 a day . but it was a nice stay !

I highly recommend the Howard Johnson Anaheim, http://www.hojoanaheim.com/index.html. Many of their rooms DO have microwaves, they all have mini fridges. They are extremely clean and well maintained. They have two pool areas, you can see the fireworks from the main pool area, and a nice hot-tub.

You can get a room in the tower building with a view of Tommorowland, the monorail and Matterhorn. The home office rooms are a little larger and do have a micro, I really think they are the best non-suite rooms. They do have suites as well.

The staff is fantastic and I really enjoy the atmosphere of this hotel. Another big plus is that is a HOTEL, with indoor corridors to the rooms. Many of the other facilities within walking distance are MOTELS.

Since we discovered the HoJo, we never stay anywhere else. They have a link on the MouseInfo boards that usually gets you the lowest rate available.

We loved HoJo's! Quick and easy access to the gates (10 min walk) , great rates and clean and comfy!

We also liked the Marriot by the convention center- very comfy beds, friendly staff, Pizza Hut in the lobby is open late.

We also stayed at the Hilton (also next to convention ctr)- not as happy with beds, not very family frienldy.. LOVED the view and could see fireworks from our room (ask for upper floor Disney view- it overlooks the rooftop pool as well). Very much enjoyed the four extra large hot tubs on the rooftop pool level. We wore sweatshirts to the pool deck and wrapped up in towels when done (March)- great way to relax after a long day at the parks.

Our first DL stay was the Holiday Inn on Walnut.. wasn't happy. Unprofessional staff (housekeeping staff and janitorial staff seen "necking" in hallway, room was not done every time we came back in afternoon for a rest, overcharged at on site restaurant ),
safety issues during renovation (exit door fell off hinges and nearly fell on our then 3 yr old .. staff did not seem concerned when we told them).... shouldn't be a good neighbor hotel IMHO.

Go for HoJo's!! And you will be on :cloud9:

We've stayed at the Hyatt Orange County, Anaheim Marriott, and Anaheim Hilton. Our favourite is the Marriott, followed by the Hyatt (kidsuite only, not the standard room), and then the Anaheim Hilton.

The Marriott was so comfortable, and service was great. The pool was nice and relaxing. We stayed there in 2002. We'd stay there again in the future.

The Hyatt had a really nice kidsuite with a King-sized bed in one room and bunk beds in another room, each room with their own TVs. There was a microwave and fridge as well. The pool was small but was fine by our kids who had lots of fun nevertheless. A Target store was adjacent to this hotel. We stayed there in 2003.

The Hilton was below standard. We stayed there in 2004. THE GOOD: The lobby was spectacular. As the previous poster did say, the pool was very nice and there were many hot tubs. THE BAD: Our room was in need of a reno, it seems. The beds were not comfortable. We found granola on the floor when we came into the room. The bathroom was very small. We had a vent above our bathtub that dripped water, kinda annoying. THE UGLY: In the very small bathroom, we couldn't give our children baths without touching the toilet. The bathroom tile was full of brown stuff. We had to line our bathroom floor with towels so we didn't have to step on the brown stuff. We tried to change rooms, but front desk discouraged us by saying that "all the bathrooms are the same". Yikes!!!
