For an interesting experiment, try posting and reading on the Disneyland boards for a week. Stay off the WDW boards for that week, do not even look at them. You will be absolutely shocked, SHOCKED, at the difference in how people talk to and basically treat each other on the DLR boards compared to the WDW boards.

I'm serious, try it, and I promise you'll be amazed...

Is it better or worse? I never did that well in science. :rotfl:

I vote other... And would say anytime that someone asks for specific advice on how to deal with something money-related... (ie: best place to get new tires, trying to find them cheap so we can still go to Disney)... and it turns into "You shouldn't be going to Disney anyways! You need new tires!! Priorities!! How could you endanger your dc,dh/dw, dogs, etc.'s lives like that?!?"

The OP asked for good places to buy tires. Not Dave Ramsey. There's a reason it's called "personal" finance...Everyone has their own priorities.

Someone just had a question about going to the dentist and I felt so bad for the OP...who handled the criticisms better then I would have!

Now...if you phrase the question "Should I endanger my children's lives with bald tires and no brakes and risk the drive to Disney, or get the work on the car done and stay home?".... Then you are on your own!! :rotfl:

this seriously just happened to me, I asked if dentists do payment plans b/c I have a few cavities and people turned it into that I was neglecting my teeth b/c I had to take my disney vacation and my daughter's teeth were being neglected as well (who was NEVER even mentioned in the post, they just saw at the bottom of my siggy that I had a DD). And, if my cavities weren't taken care of THAT DAY, my teeth were going to rot out, the infection was going to go to my bone, and I was going to die.

It seems to me that whenever I see the line jumping topic, people are more hostile. Pool hopping is a hot button one too though.

Poor you. I can TOTALLY see that happening the way some people are SO self-rightious.

For anyone interested in a cruise, visit the DCL cruise board, and ask if you can wear shorts in the dining rooms. Oh my, the comments on that are truly ridiculous, especially since it is such a non-issue in actual fact (no one really cares) :rotfl: .

I'm going to have to do a search on adult scooters. I don't think I've had the pleasure of reading one of those yet popcorn:: .

Towel animals on the cruise ships are often made with many large bath towels. I always thought it was meant to be fun, not a gift from DCL. This isn't even debated on the cruise boards. :confused3

Oops! Don't want to start a war.

I know what you mean. I'm rarely on the families, budget, resorts, theme parks, or tips boards. Someone is always ready to pounce over the slightest comment. One mom freaked out that someone wanted to get their baby daughter's ears pierced so she wouldn't remember it, comparing it to circumcision. Whew! That poor mom was told it's like randomly sticking needles in her baby and hoped someone would do that to her so she'd know how it felt. :confused3

I stick to transportation, cruise boards, Universal. They're a bit more mellow. Some disagreements but attacks are rare.

Well, except for the guy that really had no clue airlines charge for checked bags and didn't find out until he got to the airport so he was mad at the airline.
Too bad some caves aren't wired for cable tv.

Towel Animals is what they are called and I think it's dumb for people to get so bent out of shape when you say you've taken one. Most of the resorts tell you that it is okay to take them home as they are meant as gifts to you from them, but I guess to each their own.

But I do enjoy seeing mine every morning when I got in to take my shower...makes me feel like for just that 20 minute shower that I am still in WDW and not in the real world getting ready for work.

You actually talked to someone at a WDW resort who told you it is OK to steal towels? I'm not trying to start an actual controversy, really-just curious.

Just about anything that some one else does not agree on!:rotfl2:. "Flame", I think Is maybe a bit of a over statement. I have read very few that people gets really heated up about, I just think people are just really passionate about how they feel and sometimes that spills over Into some things that'' they did not mean to say. i think it (IMO) It would be pretty boreing If everyone agree on everything In genreal!. I think the one thing that we can agree here Is our love of Life and Disney:goodvibes

There is another thread on this very subject.
Some mods and cast members have stated that these towel animals are made from different, cheap towels, and have eye glued on them. They are apparently intended to be taken home. Some posters have stated that they were told by hotel management that these are indeed intended as souvineers.

Not sure if this one has been mentioned yet or not, but how about the thread from the person who said they cancelled their vacation and decided to donate that money to Haiti instead of going on vacation. That one got hot real fast. :lmao:

Tipping is always a good one.

Some people think you should never tip. Some think a few bucks is good. Some think you should never leave less than 20% Some think the trip is costing them so much, they just can't the tips. Some think if you can't afford to tip, then you should stick to counter service meals or just keep your butts home.

Riding certain rides while pregnant.

I've noticed a few threads on this and invariably, there is always someone whose hairdresser's sister's cousin-in-law who was able to jump on Splash Mountain/Space Mountain at 8 months along with no problem and there was always someone to say how incredibly dangerous that was due to the g-forces. I'm not giving an opinion since I've never been pregnant, but these threads are pretty amusing.

or perhaps so many towel animals were stolen, they had to switch to cheap towels.
On the ship, they're def regular towels. We take a picture, then use them!
Here's some photos:

you get the gist of it...

Haven't read them all, but how to get around height restrictions always brings out the ......."they are there for a reason and there's always next trip",
very quickly.

So I guess the question would be, why would you react like that when someone is just passing on some information related to a question that was asked?

Very cute pics. They did this for us when we stayed onsite a few years back and I didn't think to get photos. What's the one in the middle supposed to be though? I recognize the peacock and the elephant...

OK, so I have my flame retardant suit on, but.....

I understand that people need wheelchairs, ECVs, etc., but why on earth do they and their WHOLE party of 50+ people get a front of the line pass on the rides, buses, etc? That just strikes a nerve. It should be like the rider switch pass - you plus 2 or 3 (cannot remember the number) of your companions....the rest have to stand in line like everyone else. Then, to top it all off, some of them get VERY upset when they have to actually stand in line like everyone else.

Sorry, but just my opinion.

I just wanted to say no need for the flame retardent suit.... My best friend uses a chair and we both feel the same way, as do most people with disabilities that I know!!!! Same not special, really if they would just make the quere area wider she would be able to move through the regular line just fine, however, they haven't....I'm sure some individuals will flame me for this, because they feel a sense of entitlement, but oh well..... There are still some individuals who should have access to that line, such as persons with certain types of developmental delays, but not necessarily individuals who use chairs.

Most people understand/are ok with taking a child to bathroom then returning to the line.

However, some want to have one parent hold a place in line while the other parent takes the kids to ride something else, grab a snack, or just play for a bit. For some strange reason, these folks think their kids can't handle waiting in line.

... while holding fast to the opinion that everyone else's children can/should/must :rotfl2: Because, after all, do you know how much they paid for this vacation? :rolleyes1

Right. Those are people looking for ways to get the best value for their money in their everyday lives so they can, ideally, have money to spend on a vacation.
