Which GCH room for pack-n-play

I'm headed to DL in September with my parents, who will get their own (hopefully connecting) room. In my room will be dh, dd4yo, dd 9mos. Which room configuration would give us the greatest space for the pack-n-play for dd2? Dd1 will need her own bed.

1 King bed - we could bring dd1's aerobed since we are driving to SoCal. Bu then we'd need space for the aerobed AND pack-n-play

2 queens

1 queen & 1 bunk bed - the only reason why I'm considering this type of room is because DD1 has mentioned several times that she would like to have a bunk bed in the future when dd2 is old enough to sleep in a bed. They share a room now, but obviously, dd1 is in a crib.

I'd rather not do a pull-out. Don't want to have to deal with that every time dd1 needs to sleep.

We've booked a standard room, if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

Not sure how the other rooms are set up but when we stayed in a std room w/ bunk beds, we placed the pack n play in the hall area, near the entrance door/ bathroom. There was room there against the wall and this did not block the main door or the bathroom door. This might not work if you will be going in and out a lot but we liked it because it gave dd her own space to settle and she slept really well there for naps and for night time.

Hopefully others will chime in on the other room configurations. My other 2 dds loved the bunkbeds by the way!

...don't the rooms all have a pack and play in the closet?. Maybe I'm thinking of somewhere else..

Yes, you're right...every time we've stayed at the GCH there's been a pack&play in the closet.

The largest standard view room configuration is the 2 queens and a daybed. The daybed isn't actually a pull-out bed and since there will be 2 queen beds your older child won't need the daybed to sleep on. If you call housekeeping they will bring up a couple of bedrails so your 4 y/o will feel safe in the big bed.

Only certain rooms are adjoined. When we went, we had two queens and the adjoining room had two queens. We put the pack n play next to the sliding door. Don't think they have many options for connected rooms....

When I called to make reservations, the agent told me there are PNP in every closet. I just meant that if we go with only a king bed, we'd have to make floor space for both an Aerobed AND PNP.

I don't know if they'd give 2 queens and a daybed to a family of four. So is there more room to maneuver around with that configuration? Where would a PNP go?

You can always make a request for any configuration but I'm sure you already know, they won't actually guarantee anything.

We're a family of 4 and we've always requested and been assigned the 2Q+daybed setup. The only time we got a room with just 2 queen beds was when my daughters and I were there w/out my husband.

The 2Q+daybed rooms are a little bit bigger than the rooms w/out the daybed.

As someone else mentioned, they can guarantee nothing except the view you have booked. You are welcome to request anything you like and they do all they can to meet those requests. The first request they meet is the connecting request, then the bedding, then a floor or location request.

There are a lot of connecting rooms at the GCH but most of them are 2Q connecting to 2Q. There are no daybed rooms that connect to anything but another daybed room, and with 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant it is unlikely you would be assigned that type of room anyway as they are in high demand with family with teenagers too big for the bunkbeds, and it is also less likely you would be assigned one of the bunkbed rooms, as those are in high demand for families with 2+ children. There are very few king beds at the GCH at all, less than 50 in the whole hotel.

Any of the room types would work with the pack 'n play. The area by the hallway someone mentioned works well, but it would block the adjoining door. It also works well in the far corner between the table and the window, if you scoot the table over a little.

We just got back from the Grand in May and had a room on the 4th floor, standard view directly above the front desk area, it was 2 queens and a sofa, not hideabed. There was plently of room for a pack n play by the couch. These rooms are bit longer than the others, but I believe it is only the standard views above the front desk area. They are also very close to the elevator which we liked since we had the baby. I am sorry I don't remember the room number.
