We are a family of 5 with a 4 yr. old and would love some suggestions on which cabin I might be able to request. Any ideas and suggestions are very welcome! We dont want to be tucked away and would like the closest walking distance to the main buildings and launch to MK. Thank you !

You can't really walk from any of the cabin loops to the marina area. Well...you could, but it's quite a hike, and there are no sidewalks.

We stayed in the 2500 loop in January, cabin 2502. We backed up to the pool, and laundry, and were step to the bus stop across the street. A very short bus ride away will take to you both the Settlement and the Outpost areas. (Purple buses, make a loop from one end to the other via the cabin loops.

We were there with our 6YO and LOVED it. Any questions, please fire away!

Thank you for your quick reply! Sounds like the perfect cabin for us. Hopefully we will be able to get the same one. We have always wanted to try the cabins but feel that we may be "out of it" and not "part of it". But the more I have been reading the more Im finding that people LOVE the cabins! Im a little confused on the bus system. The purple buses are only internal buses? What was it about the cabins your 6 yr. old enjoyed so much? Curious as to what my son might enjoy too. :) Thank you ! :) :)

There are 3 (I think) sets of busses that circle through Ft Wilderness, Purple, Yellow and Orange (they will detail ALL of it when you check in) but, being in the cabins, the Purple busses will take to the Outpost and the Settlement which in turn can get you to other "Points Disney"

Will you have a car? What we did was take Disney transport to MK and Epcot, and drove everywhere else. DS and I did take the bus to AK one day, and it was fine.

We are from Mass, and our 6 year old LOVED hunting Armadillo, checking out the Peacocks, riding the busses (really, he loved them). What was intangible to him, was the EXTRA room. he slept on the bunk beds, so we could put him to bed, and not have to worry about waking him.

There is the Electrical Water Pageant that you can see from the beach at 9:45, the Campfire, Petting Zoo, Ferry service to the MK and Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge.

There are a couple of cabin threads over on the Camping Board as well, take a stroll over and check them out too.

Thank you debster812! I think we are gonna like it there! Greetings from another one "in the boonies" too We are right next door in Ct. about 15 minutes from the Mass border. Off to the camping board! :) :)

I just got back in May from staying 1 week in a Cabin... they are absolutely wonderful. the transportation was confusing until we figured out that purple was the color for the cabins. We were in 2436 but i would recommend maybe something in the higher 2400. We were 6 cabins from the end not that bad but if you got something closer you were right at the bus stop and a short walk to the pool. I think 2500 would be a great loop also. I would definately not walk its quite a long walk.

Have fun.

We were assigned a handicap cabin last year. It was at the front of the loop, closest to the bus stop.

One thing you need to be aware about the busses. Sometimes they only travel in one direction. We found this out when several busses were only going to the outpost. Then turning around and going towards the settlement via the other loop. No busses were going to the settlement in our part of the loop.

We have stayed in the cabins many times and have never gotten any that we did not like the location. We have even been given 3 togther with friends before and been right across from each other. This is my DH's favorite resort and I know you will love it. The best is the large bathroom and many options on sleeping. Also Trail's End is a great deal for DW. Another great thing is that you can drive right to your front door which makes loading and unloading a breeze.
