At DAK, if you use a FP+, you'll miss the fascinating queue at FoP . . . but . . . do you really want to wait in line for 2 or 3 or more hours just so you can see the queue? No! And definitely get a FP+ for FoP. It's WDW's best ride--to me and to lots of other posters on the DIS. If you do want to experience the FoP queue, get in the standby line as close to park closing as possible. The standby wait times are usually highly inflated then.
The PPF standby queue is really great. If the standby wait time isn't bad, it's worth doing. But I wouldn't wait, say, an hour for it. I might wait 1/2 hour if I'd never seen it before. Ditto HM standby queue The 7DMT standby queue is not worth waiting for. I mean, it's cute, but not 1/2 hour of my time cute. Maybe 15 minutes, max.
EE has an amazing standby queue. In fact, I've never ridden EE but I have walked thru the queue. It's wonderful.
The standby queue at TT is also pretty amazing. But wait an hour to see it? Not I.
In case someone in your party needs to go to FEA, be warned: the standby queue is nothing at all except a thousand switchbacks until you get to the very very end, where there's something cute. This ride is strictly FP+ or rope drop.
I'll post again if I can think of another interesting standby area.
