Which for a Princess Birthday?

We are celebrating a 3 year old princess birthday and a 40 year old queen's I am trying to decide between dinner at 1900 Park Faire with Cinderella and friends OR the Princess Storybook Lunch at Akershus.

Tell me which you would recommend...and if you have time...why.

This princess will be celebrating her 50th birthday at Akershus

(Easier/quicker to get to Off Kilter after lunch!)

I really like the atmosphere and at Norway. However, when we went we ate a late breakfast which was wonderful. I have been told by friends who ate lunch that it was not very good.

Base your decision on 2 things. How important is the food? and Which princesses do you want to see?

It's been a few years, since we've eaten at either. Our DS(15) has outgrown them. In your situation, I'd recommend 1900 PF for 1 reason. While the queen & princess will get to meet & be treated like royalty at either meal, your 2 princes will undoubtedly like the stepmother & stepsisters at 1900 PF more. That meal sounds like a lot of fun now. We don't do buffets for dinner, but if 1900 PF had the same characters for breakfast, we'd definitely give it a try. I think my "too old for everything" DS would even enjoy it. Although the last character meal we went to was at 1900 PF, & the Mad Hatter was a riot too. I definitely think they have the best characters for older kids.

I like the food at both, but the selection at 1900 is huge compared to Akershus.

Also, I would say that the overall atmosphere at 1900 is very unhurried. I have seen the characters be very personable with guests, taking their time. Everything seemed a little more "meet and move on" at Akershus.

my vote was for Norway because I find it very, very hard to do a buffet with DS3. I am not sure if you have any other children but my DH have decided to skip buffets until my children are older... Just my opinion...They are both great places...

We met in the dining room of the Disney Wonder two years ago! Our dgd was just one as was your little princess. We are taking her (at 3) to the Storybook Princess breakfast on our next trip. I saw some pictures of the new characters at Park Fare for dinner and I think the step mother might be a little scary for a just turning three! I think the stepsisters would be really fun for older kids, but she just wouldn't get it. Most of her favorites will be at Story Book Princess and we will have to catch up with Cindy latter! Eep! Is it the food, atmosphere, or something else that make buffets tough with your DS? We'll have DD5, DD3 & DS1 with us in January, & I've been booking buffets b/c I thought the fast access to food would be better for kids that age. However, if you have cautionary tales about buffets, I'd love to know why!

Well, One adult has to stay with the kids while the other goes up for food. Then Vice versa. Maybe one takes a child with them. This is what we did...I took DS3 up to pick his food and I grabbed a few things because we all know how impatient a 3 year old can be. Sat down and DD5 went up with husband. He ran into the same problem and not to mention lines of a buffet..Cape May was our worst dining experience due to lines..If you wanted something at the end or the line you had to wait from the beginning because there was no place to "cut" in...It might work for some but not for us...I find that if I ask for bread and butter right when we sit they are fine. I am also that mother that doesnt let them drink before they have eaten something-not the whole meal but something....

Our little princess celebrated her 5th birthday at 1900 Park Fare and Loved it !!! Everyone made my daughter feel so special. Its such a beautiful place and the food is good. I don't think you can go wrong with eithe place, but for me 1900 Park Fare has a special place in my heart.

We are celebrating DD7 birthday with a Princess Storybook lunch at Akershus for 1 reason only - the more princesses the BETTER!!!!!!!! She is very undecided when it comes to who her favorite princess is, so a lunch with a variety is a better option for us. But . . . on the other hand, I've never experience PF so I can't give a comparison. Have a great trip and be sure to post a review when you get back!

We ended up deciding on Akershus b/c it just fit into our touring schedule better. It was GREAT. There were princesses everywhere! I have not done the others...and I'm sure they are great too, but I wanted to give Princess Storybook Dining a thumbs up
