Trying to narrow down which restaurants for our trip.

We are ONLY eating dinners. We're doing one character meal.

We'll have five kids but they are well-behaved in restaurants and are used to going out to eat in nicer places.

So far, I've decided on...

-Garden Grill character meal
-Ohana
-?
-?
-?

What are your faves? They don't all have to be "fancy" but just want the overall experience to be great!

Thanks for advice!

Sanaa - not quite as good as Jiko's, but the food is good - and different - plus the view can be fantastic
Artist's Point - most under-rated signature
Raglan Road - for a change of pace - noisy, raucous fun and the food is pretty good too
bluezoo in Dolphin - excellent seafood
Le Cellier - you either love it or hate it

If your kids are not too young, sci Fi diner would be fun. You might also like the food and atmosphere at via Napoli.

I know it gets knocked a lot on the boards but I had a great experience at Be Our Guest. The atmosphere is incredible - they did an awesome job capturing the feel of Beauty and the Beast. Plus I had an excellent steak that night. It's also fun to meet the Beast after dinner.

I also had an amazing meal at Chefs de France. So much so it became the first night meal for my upcoming trip.

So my top 4 would be (have only eaten on property 1 trip):
Be Our Guest
Ohana
Chefs de France
Sci Fi Diner (more for the atmoshpere - sitting in the cars and watching the old horror movie clips at a drive-in - plus delicious shakes)

Your kids would enjoy Ragland Rd. Irish dancing and entertainment. Kinda noisy, but fun.
If you want Character meals, try Tusker House, Crystal Palace or Chef Mickeys
I also enjoyed Biergarten, also has entertainment for the kids, Be Our Guest, 50s Prime time cafe (more fun for the kiddos) 1900 park Faire and Via Napoli

My kids favourites are Kona cafe, via Napoli, beaches and cream and chef mickeys

Parents love Flying Fish and Narcooses

#1 Be Our Guest (BOG) The animated windows in the dining room that make it appear you are up in the Alps, are really really cool. And getting to see the Beast tromping around during dinner is great as well. The food and beer selection arent half bad.

#2. The single best character dinner hands down is Chef Mickey in the Contemporary. I actually recommend trying to get a later dinner reservation (depending on how old your kids are and if they can hold out) and watching the fireworks show from the windows while dining. Last time we went Minnie actually came to our table, took our daughter and the two went and watched the fireworks together out a window. Truly magical moment.

#3 Beaches and Cream

#4 Ohana

#5 (To replace Garden Grill because frankly I think its pretty bad given the other restaurants in Epcot) do Akershus Royal Banquet Hall and you get to see every single princess in one meal!

This will be my families first trip to Disney and I have as Sci-Fi scheduled as a lunch. When you say old horror movie clips, should I not take my 5 and 8 year old here?

They'll be fine. OLD horror movies. Like seriously old.
Think pulp horror from days of old, not slasher films or Saw. The Blob would be an example of the genre, although maybe not something they show. To the modern eye, even at those ages, they're just silly.

This is Disney. If something will be actively not-okay for kids, they will label it as such.

1) Ohana
2) A dinner show - either Spirit of Aloha or Hoop De Doo Musical Revue
3) Le Cellier
4) Be Our Guest (to see the castle not for the food, it's just OK)
5) Personally, I would do breakfast or lunch for a character meal. Tusker House and Cape May are good for BF and Crystal Palace for lunch. And Garden Grill is just bad..

Yak and Yeti
Sanaa
Teppan Edo
Raglan Road
Rose and Crown One of the best steaks on property from 1 credit restaurant

You've already got my favorite, 'Ohana
Le Cellier
La Hacienda
Teppan Edo
The Wave

We enjoy many different restaurants at Disney and use the TIW card not a dining plan for our TS meals. We try to plan different types of cuisine every day if we can. We have always enjoyed BOG - dinners more so than lunch. The French Onion soup is fantastic as are several of the entrees. We also really enjoyed Via Napoli, Les Chefs de France and Le Cellier at Epcot although Le Cellier is quite pricey. But the food there is outstanding. We also enjoyed Teppan Edo (but Teppan Edo is pricier like Le Cellier and of course they're all very different types of food so you have to decide what you like most. We recently decided that Disney has gone overboard on their buffet prices so aren't doing as many of those any more - but that said our absolute favorite is BOMA at the AK lodge. Always delicious and a culinary treat - and it has a lot more variety than found at either Sanaa or Jiko. We're trying O'Hana for the 2nd time on our next trip as it's been awhile since we went there. We need a refresher on that one to see if the food is really "all that". At HS we would choose either Mama Melrose or 50's Prime Time cafe over Sci Fi Dine-In. We went to Sci-Fi last summer for the first time and were NOT impressed AT ALL with the food there. It's a cute theme - but so is 50's Prime Time. The food was noticeably lacking at Sci-Fi for the price. 50's is American comfort food & Mama's is Italian. At AK park we also really like Yak & Yeti although they don't take our TIW card. Tusker House is good too but the Yak & Yeti TS restaurant is excellent. Afraid we haven't experimented much with TS at Disney Springs or many of the other hotel properties…trying Turf Club for the 1st time at SSR on our next trip too. At MK we would choose either Liberty Tree Tavern or Tony's Town Square (but we like the lunch menu there). We've had positive experiences at both of those and we always slip in a cheap meal at The Plaza too.

Have fun planning!!

Ooops - looks like I tried to quote myself. :headache:

We really like Teppen Edo, Akershus (princess dinning), Liberty Tree Tavern and BOG. I really liked Whispering Canyon but my husband said it was ok.
