Which Fantasmic Dinner?

I usually go to Hollywood and Vine because it's cheaper, and the food is pretty good with a nice selection.

I know H&V gets bad reveiws but we really likes it. No complaints from us and we were all stuffed!! There were a couple things that we didn't like, but thats always the way it is with a buffett. Very relaxed atmosphere which is great if you have kids. If your party is all adults and you want to spend the money, go to Brown Derby. It's a little more upscale. But... like I said, we enjoyed H&V. :thumbsup2

We like H&V, but if you are looking for any packages for Dec, you will most likely be out of luck :sad2: . They had nothing for the week we are there and I wasn't particular about night/time and gave the option of 8 days.

I talked with someone else on another thread for the second week of Dec and nothing for them either :sad2: .

I called this morning and was able to get a Fantasmic dinner pkg for Dec 1st at H&V :woohoo: .

They had one more opening that day if anyone was looking for this date. They had nothing the rest of the week as of yet.

We were thinking of Mama Melrose.
This past summer H&V was a mad house - literally.
Too may ADR's at the same time. 40 minutes wait with an ADR.

June 2006 H&V story....
Two families pagers went off at the same time - they both went to the podiunm. The CM said they both were assigned the same table and not sure why both were paged. - WHAT WE DID - we were paged too for our table. We just wanted our Fantasmic package tickets and gave up our table to one of the families paged at the same time with an infant - they just wanted some A/C and dinner. We were charged $40 for our Fantasmic tickest, the family with the infant got to eat and relax in A/C, we had some pizza for dinner.

My DH does not want to go back to H&V if it is a busy time of the year. Too many people. Too many germs at the buffet. Bathrooms lines too long (H&V shares with 50 Prime Time).

We did not mind shelling out the $40 for the Fantasmic tickets and eatin pizza. At least we had a quiet dinner and great seats at Fantasmic. :goodvibes

HBD was too fancy for us with 4 kids, we love the selection at H&V and have never had a bad time there (though we try to avoid very busy seasons anyway.) We have nevr done MM, dh and I are not crazy about red sauce. We are six very different eaters so we like the variety at H&V.

We have been to both Hollywood & Vine and Mama Melrose. I have 2 teenage children and I found the selection was better at Hollywood & Vine - alothough it is a little louder. We never have had to wait long at H&V but we did wait about 30 minutes at Mama's. Both were very nice...but for the money H&V is a pretty good deal. Have fun!

DW declared Hollywood and Vine the best American food buffet she'd ever had.
