Hi!

I'm new to this board!

I was at Disney when it first opened as a child, twice, and then went back when I was 20. Then when my daughter was 3, I took her. Then we went again when she was 7. (Now she's nine.) This holiday season we are going with my boyfriend---and here's the fun part--he has NEVER been to Disney World!

We're very excited to show him the ropes, so any suggestions or ideas are most welcome!

My main question is: where for lunch in EPCOT? We will be going at Noon.

Thanks!

PS. I LOVE this pink bouncy thing on your posts. Couldn't wait to use it myself! B.W.:Pinkbounc

Either one of the French resturaunts are very nice for lunch. If you get time check out this website. It was very helpfull to my wife and I to plan our trip. Its pretty up to date and should have all the menu's on it! :D Hope you have good time!

I love to take someone to Disney that has never been. It's so much fun! I have eaten at every rest. in Epcot. My far the best, in my opinion for atmosphere, price and food is Norway. Most people think all they have is herring and that is not true.

They have breads, cheeses, salads, many entree's, including my favorite which is the macaroni and cheese and ham made with Jarlsburg cheese.

The staff is really nice and it is beautifully decorated. It's also a bargain at 12.99 per person.

Go to www.wdwig.com and check out the menus under dining and you can view the menus.

Good luck and have FUN!

Another vote for Marrakesh (in Morrocco). Good food, a great lunch special, and great live entertainment (belly dancer and musicians). The lunch special included appetizer, entree, and dessert (all pre-selected items) for $12.95!

My kids loved the food also and husband didn't seem to mind the belly dancer;)

Norway's our favorite too. But we noticed a lunch menu for China that seemed like it would be good too. Maybe we'll try that next time.

We loved Le Cellier in Canada. The food was really good, prices were reasonable, and the choices were familiar enough for a large, mostly food-picky family. :)

Never mind the fact that you have to walk through some of the best gardens in Epcot to get there!

Thanks so much for all of your help! France, Germany, Morocco, Norway and Canada sound really interesting to me. I think I'm leaning toward Norway for it's exotic feel, and the buffet sounds like a really great deal!

I LOVE leCellier as do my dd's 6 & 8, our second choice is Mexico either the sit down restaurant inside the pavillion or the outdoor take out. Evening meals are often at the Rose & Crown pub - man do I miss Epcot.......

We like Marrakesh as well, but usually save it for dinner - because it isn't usually a problem to drop in early with no PS. (BTW, bellydancers, the guys usually like this place for the bellydancers).

Another choice that people haven't mentioned but rave about for lunch is Teppanyaki in Japan. I haven't been there, myself.

We are taking my in-laws for the first time next October. I'm planning on buying them a Birnbaums guide and letting them make a list of all the places they'd like to try for dinner. I think they will willingly follow us around for attractions, so dinner plans seems to me like a good way to get them involved in planning and excited about the trip. Soooooo, what does your boyfriend want?

Restaurant Akershus in norway is my first choice. I don;t eat much fish at all and there is still plenty there to fill me up and the atmosphere is good too AND it isn't outrageously priced. Second pick is Marrakesh.

We enjoy Chefs de France, Rose & Crown and San Angel Inn for lunch.

At Chefs it's fun to watch the people go by outside the windows as you enjoy really good food.

At R&C, if we're inside we enjoy the English pub atmosphere. Outside at lunch it's fun to see all the beauty of Worldshowcase while enjoying a peaceful lunch.

San Angel is like being in a different world...very relaxing and of course dark.

We enjoy the food at all three and all are less hectic at lunch than dinner in our experience.

Restaurant Marrakesh is our favorite place for lunch. Love the decor, the service and the food.

I put in another vote for Norway. This is excellent food at a really good price and a restaurant that many people overlook. If you've got slightly more adventurous tastes, definitely give Teppanyaki a go in Japan! We tried it last time we were out there, after a CM recommended it, and it was superb!

Another vote for Akershus here. We found something for everyone in our family and those meatballs really filled the boys up. They weren't hungry again until about 9:00 that night and then they shared a turkey leg.

My DH at first objected to this place but he raved about it. For the price, I thought it was well worth it.

Norway's our favorite too. But we noticed a lunch menu for China that seemed like it would be good too. Maybe we'll try that next time.

After reading some forum user reviews of lunch/dinnner in China, I've decided maybe not after all. Generally, they weren't good!

One was "Be afraid, be very afraid!." Scared me off!!

My fav place to eat at Epcot is the counter service area in Norway. Love to sit with the little birds and watch the kids play on the viking ship. Great desserts, rice cream is yummy!

We've really enjoyed the San Angel Inn in Mexico for lunch. In fact, we always make PS for this place for our first day in Epcot. The atmosphere is great (evening setting in Mexico with a smoldering volcano and river as the background) and we thought the food was great as well.
If you choose to eat here, definitely make PS in advance. We've seen several people with 1 hour wait times at lunch without PS.
