Which DVC should we stay at?

We own at BCV and are planning a trip in July for 5 nights. We wanted to stay at a different resort this time. Either BWV (standard view) or OKW. We are planning to do 2 light park days (MK and Epcot) and spend the rest of the time at the resort. We are trying to save a few points so we won't have to borrow so many. We have two girls (ages 8 and 11). We would like to stay in a one bedroom. Any suggestions would be great.

It sounds like OKW would fit the bill perfectly. You can save some points there. In addition, it's not in the same "neighborhood" as BCV the way BWV is, so it would be more like you're really trying somewhere different.

it is probably too late to get BWV standard view points - they generally go pretty fast - but you can try it.

oh if you are trying to save points - you realize that the studio at OKW have 2 queen beds - right?

I've had apartments that are smaller then the 1br's at OKW. As mentioned, if you're trying to save points then OKW would be the way to go. We're BWV owners but we love also staying at OKW, in fact, we've stayed their more then BWV.

I don't know if you ever thought of this but how about SSR? They now offer carriage rides. Plus there are lots of things to do at the community hall, like ceramics, make your own ice-cream, and make a creation with the Disney Florest. They also have a nice pool and is a short walk to DTD if you do get bored.

I'd recommend either OKW or SSR. I've found that staying at BWV is great if you're planning to go to the park. But if you're not, the nearness of the park is such a great temptation it makes me sad not to go all the time. However, when we stay at OKW, there are often times when I gladly hang around at the resort with no desire to go to the parks.

It's a great idea to try the different resorts. Our favorite is Old Key West. There are plusses and minuses to each and the best way to find your preference is to give them a try. Good luck and enjoy!

OKW is a great bargain....I was pleasantly surprised.

I'd say OKW since it's such a different atmosphere than what you are used to - with BWV being so close in proximity to BCV- you may feel like you aren't trying something as different!
We loved our OKW 1 bedroom - it was FAR bigger than our 1st apartment,2nd apartment.....ya know - the 2 bdrms are bigger than our first house!

OKW won. I booked 5 nights in a one bedroom. The girls were excited when I showed them pictures of the slide. I'm excited to stay there for the first time. I will let you know what I think after our stay. Thanks for all the help!

Our kids are 13 and 10 and they love OKW ! The space, the peace, nearness to DTD. It's lovely to have the choice !
