Which DVC resorts have balconies with lights?

I'm now at SSR. I was hoping to put the kids to sleep, and then share a bottle of wine with my wife on the balcony of our 2-BR villa, but then noticed that there are no balcony lights. Our villa faces part of the golf course, so there isn't any other surrounding lights, and we'd have to sit in the dark.

Which of the other DVC resorts have balcony lights?

I'm sure that the first floor 1 & 2BR at OKW have lights on the patios. I would think the upper floor villas would have them on the balconies.

OKW has lights on all balconies, and ceiling fans on one bedroom and larger balconies.

Uh, how about turnin' on the lamp in the livin' room and leavin'
the curtain open halfway, how much light you want out there? ;)

The 2-bedroom BWV we stayed in a few weeks ago did not have lights on the balcony.

:rotfl2: That's Funny. Please keep all after dark balcony "activities" as dark as possible please! ;)

And remember, Walt Disney World is a Family Resort, not a Resort for Making Families. ;)

okw does - I think it is the only WDW DVC resort that does.

don't remember HH

VB does not and I think it is reason the other DVC resort don't - something about interfering with the wildlife.

WDW has alot of wildlife.

the only problem would be christmas - makes it harder to decorate the balconies when the electrical system is inside.

The battery operated candles work well.

Also, keep in mind there is usually some sort of general exterior lighting on every building so it is not like you are in absolute darkness.

Hilon Head's wildlife issue is the loggerhead sea turtle:

I'm not sure if they are as far south as Vero---might be. Not an issue in Orlando, though.

Vero Beach does not allow the use of outside lights because of the sea turtle issue. Hilton Head's resort is inland so the turtles wouldn't be affected by lights on any of the balconies. I do seem to remember that the HH balconies do have lights...but I could be wrong. I remember playing cards out there well into the evening and I'm sure we had light. :thumbsup2

We get battery operated LED (Xmas Lights) light strings and use those as balcony lights.

When DD was using the living room at OKW for a bedroom, she liked the idea of a "night light" so she could see a bit to find her way around if she got up at night. She turned the balcony light on, and left the blinds just open a little so she could see. Of course, the kitchen lights are also on a dimmer and can be turned down VERY low as well. She preferred the balcony light though. I've never had an issue at the other DVC resorts with needing light on the balcony though. For one thing, most of them are too small to enjoy at night anyway.

I don't recall any light on the HH balcony we had in May. They have a very low level of lighting at night.

At BCV, I recall having lights, because I called maintenance to see if they could be turned off because we could not sleep and they had to send someone up to do it.

No lights at SSR.

Dont think we had them at AKV either.

Normally the room lights are enough but I dont read on the balcony at night.

The balconies at BWV that have a roof over them have a light on the back wall of the balcony. The exposed balconies do not have lights. If your room faces the boardwalk you get plenty of light for sitting out and people watching. I'm not sure about the rooms in other parts of the resort.

I don't think the AKV balconies have lights but there is artificial moonlight on the savannas so I've never found the balconies of the Savanna View rooms to be too dark if you are just sitting out there watching the animals at night.
