Eeek...DH and I made a big boo boo and waited until last minute to try and book AKLV for our upcoming trip. We figured we were only staying a few nights after our cruise, it wouldn't be a problem...:confused3 ...well, they're booked except for ONE of the 3 nights we're staying. Bummer!!!

Our home resort is SSR, but I really wanted to try something else. How is BWV? Any recommendations? We have our little DD (2) with us so I'm trying to find a resort that she would enjoy also (we figured she'd be over the moon with AKL)!

Just to try AKL, do you think it's worth it to take that one night they have available? If it was just DH and I, maybe...but I'm not sure how DD would be, she might not want to leave AKL if we try it for one night only...:confused3

I guess it depends on what your plans are once you get to WDW. Our DD is 4 and we are leaving for WDW this Sunday. We have stayed at SSR and BWV as members, and this time we are staying at OKW.

For us - we rent a car, so distances are no biggie. If you are planning to hit the parks, and since your daughter is only two, I would guess MK is probably the one with the most interest? VWL are close to the ticket and transportation area - hop the monorail or boat and you are right at MK. You can also take a boat from the resort to get to MK - cool.

BWV puts you within walking distance to EPCOT, and if you feel like walking, you can walk along the canal to the Studios. Our daughter loved the Boardwalk, with the magicians and other things going on the evening. It kept her quite entertained. And we watched the Illuminations fireworks at EPCOT from the Boardwalk - no crowds, it was great.

At SSR - you are close to DTD, so if you wanted to stroll around at night for awhile once back from the parks - that works.

Your plans may dictate where you want to stay, but all the resorts have been great so far, we are hoping OKW continues the streak for us!

If its truly last minute - whatever is available. The resorts all have their charms and let the winds of fate blow you......

Thanks...its just so tough to pick one.

We're not leaving until the end of April, but we're hoping to decide and book today...before they tell me the same thing about no availability! :sad2:

I've been reading about BCV & BWV. We stayed at WL & WLV before; and although we LOVED WL & WLV, we wanted to try another resort. But we did love the easy boat rides to CR and MK. That was great...and we loved the walk to the petting zoo too. Another option! :confused3

We figured DD would also love the Boardwalk and the views. We won't be renting a car, but we're not picky about which park we go to or in what order (we plan according to our DD!princess: ) but a MK visit is a must. I'm so confused now...I'm trying to figure out the pros and cons and transportation is a big weight. Gggrrrrr...

At this late date, I'd probably ask what was available and decide from there, because there might not be much choice.

If MK is a big draw since you have your 2 yr old daughter, then WLV. If not, BW is awesome, has alot for little ones (great pool, sweet shop, beaches and cream ice cream parlor across the way at BC, ESPN for a good meal for you and hubby and very kid friendly and most of all, great strolling entertainment on BW for the kiddies at night). You can take the boat to DHS and EPCOT, or you can walk.

Good luck with your decision and have a great trip.

i would call first, & see what's available.
then put the names in a hat & pick one. :)
if you decide against the hat idea tho, consider picking the resort you would be least likely to choose, & saving the "sure winners" for a longer trip.
three nights is a great time-frame to try out a resort without feeling like you would be stuck there on a longer trip (with the beauty of all the DVC resorts, it is unlikely you'll dislike any one tho, & actually may wind up with a new & unexpected favorite instead).
hth :)

I wouldn't even put the names in the hat - if you are lucky enough two months out to have any choice at all, go with your gut and grab it as fast as you can - don't risk it being gone. You may find yourself with no room at the inn at all at this point.

I do not think a one night stay is worth it, and then move for 2 nights. If you have the points, book whatever is available, and waitlist for the whole 3 night stay at AKV.
