Which DVC Resort is the Most Popular during the Christmas Season?

Probably BWV standard view.

We loved the theming of WL so much we added on at VWL specifically for the Christmas season.

I think this could be case of a couple resorts being neck and neck.

VWL certainly has that traditional Xmas theming - wood, pines, the traditional Xmas colors.

But...BCV and BWV have that location that makes it easy to get to Epcot for the Candlelight Processional and MGM for the Osborne Family Lights.

I think to completely immerse yourself in that picturesque Xmas theme - VWL all the way. But if you want to take part in some of the special Xmas activities at WDW, BWV and BCV probably win out.

If you mean which resort gets fully booked -- all of them! Since OKW is now 10 years old, many people have made it a family tradition to spend Christmas there. I've even seen people with small U-Hauls to hold the tree, decorations, presents, etc. There's lots of space for family reunions. The BWV and BCV both offer easy access, especially for NYE. And, the theming of VWL shines at Christmas.

Is Christmas THE hardest time to get a reservation? We have points at BCV but I would love to stay with my family and they prefer OKW. ANY chance of getting Xmas at 7-months? Just curious -- my kids are still little and we won't travel at Christmastime for a good few years now.

Sounds like someday when we book during Christmas season we'll have to do a split stay - Epcot Resort area and VWL. Mickey's Very Christmas Party and the beauty of the lodge decorations. Then, onto Epcot area for Osborne family lights and Candlelight Processional. Glad we've got points for both areas!

:Pinkbounc When we we there this past DecemberI bet better than a third of the balconies(including myself) had christmas lights strung on them and it looked great.:bounce:

Is Christmas THE hardest time to get a reservation?

It probably is. They used to run the "Special Seasons List" where you could book 14 months in advance. They dropped this after 2000 but it could be started up again. It wouldn't be impossible to stay at OKW at this time, since at 7 months some OKW will try to make a switch to other resorts as well.

Almost forgot another advantage to OKW at this time of year, with points at their highest, there is a big difference in the points needed to stay the week.

PamOKW, you are like the keeper of ancient records! It's interesting to hear the things you know because you have been a member for a while. Imagine -- 14 month bookings, parties with cocktails and conch fritters, free park tickets -- things us newer members can only DREAM about...

Thanks, as always, for the info!

LOL!!! Colleen, I think that was a compliment but the word ancient linked to my name gives me the willies! :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: LOL!

When you start to list the "good old days" it does get a little depressing. I think a real good annual pass discount from DVC would make me feel a whole lot better. ;)

No disrespect intended, PamOKW! I know that DVC is only 10 years old, not 1000! I feel ancient because I can rememebr the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride and the Skyway from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland. My kids also think I am because I can recall the train in Ft Wilderness!

With the parks being hugely busy during Christmas as thay are, we found it's nice to have a room that is easily accessible, so you can get out of the park crowds to a more relaxing atmosphere when it's needed. The parks you plan to visit the most and transportation availability may influence your decision.

VWL all the way, we just added 150 points for Christmas stays. All the resorts are great and will book fast during that time, but VWL has the best atmosphere to decorate for Christmas.

VWL may be the best for Holiday theming, however considering the crowds and the transportation conjestion, be it bus, monorail or car(dealing with crowded parking lots) BCV and BWV are better choices. It is really Nice to be able to walk into two of the 4 parks and only have to fight the transportation crowds in half the parks. Also for NYE it is so much easier to walk into Epcot or MGM and come and go during the day rather than having to stay in the park all day.
