Which DVc resort do you think would be best if your time is mailnly going to be spent at the Sports Complex for Braves spring training? (Hubby will ahve a car.)

Also, has anyoen been for thsi event? Tickest and schedule do not coem out until early December for March so our booking window is short. I woudl think spring break for most schools hasn't started quite yet?

Thanks!

I would have to say that the BWV and BCV are the closest but that OKW would work well too. Probably the only one a bit more out of the way would be VWL.

I have never been to a spring training game there but I'm sure it will be fun, (even though it is the Braves).

I'm a huge Braves fan and have attended spring training every year since 1999. I usually try to go sometime during the first two weeks of March--before a lot of the spring break crowd and before it gets too hot. Cracker Jack stadium is a great venue to watch a game. Getting to the sports complex is very easy--especially from OKW or BCV/BWV. It is just a quick jaunt down Victory Way. You can also take a bus to the complex from MGM-Studios. This year I will be there from approximately March 6-13 and am staying at OKW (low points plus relaxed setting). GO BRAVES!!!

Thinking OKW would work well with the car ( if you have one) out front of your unit and easy in/out access plus then you can go to DTD while DH is busy at the complex!

Using the bus system, I think the only bus is from Disney-MGM Studios....?

Thanks

Tahnsk all. I think I'll try for OKW, like jaysue said the parking will be easy for them. Plus, I don't think hanging out at the pool will be important to them. LOL I'll just plan on BWV and BCV as backups. Hopefully, I shoudl at least get one of these even at 3 montsh before trip?

HBC, you sure have been helping me a lot lately. Thansk! :)

jaysue, I'm staying hoem for thsi trip. Hubby is taking his Dad, but they left the planning to me. Go figure... I shoudl have been a travel ageant! LOL

mplindsay1, if you don't mind I might get back with you for more info about this spring training. I think hubby will like to start making this a yearly event, along with the occasional trip to VB to go to Dodgertown. We are from the Atlanta area and hubby is a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE baseball fan. Just ask jaysue. ;)
We just joined last May so thsi will be my first tiem trying to secure a DVc resort for him on points. I need to wait until the schedule coems out cause they are only going down for 4 nights so I need to plan according to the game days. Do you wait to book or just take a guess and hope for the best? And is this the type of thing they'll be abel to hnag out most of the day at the complex if they have a game ticket for that day or no? Will they need to pay separte for the complex, too? Is there training going on throughout most of the day? I guess they woudl need to make PSs for the Sports restaurtant there or no? Thansk for any info! He might already know this, but he is out of town in Miami for guess what?!? BASEBALL.................. I'm alking obssession here. Course, what woudl I know about obsession? I'm only on thsi website half of the day! :o Oh, and just how fats do these games sell out?

Points to consider booking ahead of the (any) schedule:

For booking and hope for the best, are you borrowing points for this trip or using banked ones or just regular use year and would you still be able to bank 100% if you guess wrong?

For example if you are borrowing then they are stuck in that use year if you guess wrong and they cannot go/have wrong dates etc.

If you are using regular use year and past banking deadlines, you can lose your points as well

Food for thought - like the way you were drafted as the travel planner

He/She who drives the buying decision, does the planning (that is the motto in our house :)

Thanks
