Which DVC 1 bedrooms have 2 bathrooms?

I do have a skinnier adult man who is also 5'7" but only like 125lbs. So, he could fit probably. Thank you!

Sounds like I need to be looking at RIV Studios or VGF Studios. I really do like the additional amenities of the RIV 1 bedroom, but the bathroom situation is less than ideal.

Why don't they close off the toilet in its own room? So dumb to have it next to the only shower, with a glass door at that. No privacy for taking a shower and someone else using the bathroom at the same time. Frosted glass would have helped immensely. Why does Disney make such poor decisions in rooms meant to accommodate so many people?
This is always the dilemma with us. More space in the 1br (plus kitchen, w/d, dining area) but less efficient bathroom space.

Another member of our family (tween daughter) takes a long time to wash every hair on her head individually, it seems. While we don't have privacy issues (yet), it is often the case that at least 2, sometimes 3 of us, shower in the other shower during the time it takes her to finish. When we are in the 1br, sometimes both girls take a bath in the soaking tub, which frees up the shower for the rest of us.

This sounds like it could work well. Thank you!

Polynesian studios look similar, but is the pull down bed child sized there? I couldn't tell.

The under the TV beds are the same size in both the Poly studio and RIV…as well as others…you are not getting a full sized twin in any DVC resort.

OP: will also add that ... our family of 4 has one person who ties up the toilet area more than others ... Sometimes he just goes to one of the public rest rooms. in the resort.

Yeah, this is our issue. We have 2 people with IBS who *sometimes* need to spend a LONG time in the bathroom, or have immediate need for the toilet and if someone else is showering, it's a problem. We often stay Club Level so just use the lounge bathroom as needed. But not sure that will be an option this trip.

Yeah, we are past the point of people showering together. This trip will be me (female), possibly my friend (female) and my 2 sons, 17 and 19. NO ONE wants anyone else in the bathroom when one of us is showering.

That's kind of messed up, considering Disney says "sleeps 5 (or 6) ADULTS."

This is incorrect. The toilet is in the same room as the glass shower. It can be closed off from the combo shower, but not both showers.

ETA: the flip down twin is also not a full twin. See info from PlanDisney:
  • The pull-down single that you are asking about is considered a “bunk size” and not a twin. From my understanding, this bunk is about 6 inches narrower and 2 to 3 inches shorter than a twin. While it may not work well for a larger adult, smaller adults and kids should be comfortable.
Single and twin size beds are the exact same size. 38 x 75 .

Also from PlanDisney:
the single pull down bed is the size of a standard twin, measuring approximately 38 in. by 75 in.

Sorry, when I looked at the floor plan I thought that was a door. But still, someone could be taking a shower in the tub/shower combo while someone else uses the toilet.

In the 5th sleeper rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, the child-size pull-down beds are approximately 63" x 30". Depending on how tall your son is I'm hoping he'll feel more comfortable on the day beds at the Deluxe Resorts which measure a little larger at 67" x 30". While this is still slightly smaller than a regular twin-sized bed, there's a saying that "there's no tired like Disney tired" so hopefully your son will still fit and sleep well! If you're looking for even larger accommodations you may look into a Villa at Disney's Beach Club Villas, which still gives your family access to the incredible Stormalong Bay pool area, while providing a pull-down bed that is approximately 72" x 33".

It appears that the Villas have different size pull down beds than the moderate 5th sleeper rooms.

A few years ago I measured the BoardWalk pull-down and compared to other mattress sizes. One of the things I learned while researching is that there isn't really a set-in-stone definition of "twin" or other bed sizes. What companies call at "twin", "full" or "queen" can still vary by a couple of inches.

https://dvcnews.com/wdw-resorts/boardwalk-villas/3228-studio-murphy-beds-up-close

However, the pull-down was still a bit smaller than the most generous definitions of a "twin." Is it enough to bother someone for a week-long hotel stay? IMO, probably not. Unless you're clearly uncomfortable in a normal twin, I doubt many people will be put-out by the fact that the pull-downs are a couple inches smaller.

I will second the above. My experience with the pull-down at Beach Club was that it was MUCH smaller than my daughter's twin bed at home. She is not tall nor am I (5'3"). I could definitely sleep in it, but I wouldn't want to.

I am also considered a "petite" person, so I can't imagine someone 5'8" sleeping on it for a while. I sleep on a regular twin bed with no issues.

Different DVC resorts cost more or less depending on the point charts. An AKV 2 br. standard view or BWV 2 br. standard view take about the same number of points as the 1 br.s at places like Riv or VGF.

I prefer to have more livingroom space to gather in v. wasting space on a separate toilet room, so DVC’s decision isn’t a poor one for my preferences. The beauty of the system is that if a 1 br. doesn’t have enough bathrooms or real beds you just use more points & reserve a 2 br..
When we stay at the VGF the 1 br.s are fine, but when we stay at AKV we opt for 2 bedrooms to get an extra real bed sleeping surface & because it takes fewer points to stay at AKV, for example. In your case a dedicated 2 br. standard view at AKV Kidani would have 3 bathrooms, 2 queen beds, 1 king bed, a sleeper chair, & a sleeper sofa & would cost around the same number of points as the 1 br.s in VGF or Riv..

As a few others have said if you are looking for 2 usable full bathrooms Kidani or BLT one Bedroom both are spacious and have really nice master baths. Without looking at the points charts you could get a 2 BR at either Jambo or Kidani and a few other resorts for not far off what a 1BR will be at BLT. That would solve all your issues and you would have plenty of extra space.... The pull out coach and Chair are not uncomfortable by any means I have never heard a compliant from adults much less teens. As far as the beds under the TVs they are comfortable as well I have laid I in them while yes smaller then a twin by no means tiny not ideal but I doubt most average sized non tosseres would have a problem sleeping on it.

This would be a cash stay. Not using points. There are no 2 bedrooms available for cash stays with a discount (I will not pay rack rate). I can get 1br or Studios at a few places, but after all this, my son told me he wanted to stay at Beach Club, and as this is his graduation gift, I wanted to honor that. I just booked a regular room at BC at 40% off, and we will deal with the bathroom situation. I requested a daybed room, and I know my son fits on those, as he slept on one at the Grand Californian last summer just fine. Plus, BC is one of the few resorts that still has a shower curtain in the bathroom, so that solves the issue of privacy while someone is showering in case someone else needs to use the toilet and can't wait.

It's a little shorter and a little narrower than a twin, but I don't think it's fair to call it child sized.

All of the single Murphys are going to be a little smaller than a twin. I think they're fine. I'm an average sized adult female and I slept fine on the Poly one and the BC one.

Enjoy your stay at the BC!
Wow 40% discounts are back for some deluxe resorts? It’s been years since I’ve seen 40% off - of course I don’t follow cash prices as closely as I did in my pre DVC days :).

Military discount. Although they currently have a Disney Visa 35% discount out for summer. I had that offer in my cart, but called and the military discount saved me a couple hundred more dollars.

Add a phantom kid under 8 and you should get your daybed room!

There are only 3 of of us now. I'd have to add 2 phantom kids. 😆 It's fine. We requested a daybed and the cast member made a note that it was to accommodate a disability (which it is), so I'm hopeful we will get it. Otherwise we will be asking for a rollaway, or worst case, buying an air mattress at Target.

Ugh. Okay. Probably won't work then. Kid is pushing 5'8" at 165 pounds. Are ANY of the pull down beds true twin size? What about the sleeper chair at BLT? We can work with the sofa bed being a pull out if necessary.

Maybe DVC won't work for us then. I guess I need to be looking at 2 rooms somewhere.
I’m 6’4” 200 lbs. I have slept on sleeper chair and it is not bad.

Beach club sounds great. Before we had DVC I sent those that could not wait to the lobby bathroom. :)
