We are considering one of these for our next trip.

Just wondering which you prefer and why?

Please include any pics-thanks!

When we stayed at POR it was the last week of April waterview room. The first morning I stepped out of my room and with the flowers all in bloom I instantly felt the magic of disney. I could see being in a southern mansion and walking out on my porch and seeing the river.
I would gladly pick POR for any trip, the girls however like to try out new resorts.

We like both POR and POFQ I think they are both wonderful
each in their own way.
POR has beautiful Landscaping, TS restaurant.
POFQ is small, has a out of the way Hot Tub.
It's nice that they are Sister Resorts because you can
use the either main pool while staying.
It is a pleasent walk from either resort
to eat at the others Restaurants.
I think it all depends on what experiance you are looking for
for this trip. Both Resorts are Great!!
I didn't vote in your poll because you don't have a choice for both.
The poll may be leaning toward POR because alot of Families have to
stay there because of size so I'm not sure how accurate that will be.

We love the POR. It is such a beautiful and lush resort. We usually get a water view that over looks a quiet pool...very nice.

POFQ is my favorite Moderate resort.
I love the themeing, the size (small) of the resort, and the setting.
Because it is a small resort everything is convenient. We were in building 5 and we were just minutes from the pool, the food court and the bus stop, yet it was very quiet and romantic.
The buses pick up first at POFQ, so you nearly always get a seat, thent they head to POR. They also drop off first at POFQ on the way home.
I agree with the PP, many more families stay at POR as it is the only moderate that will accomodate 5 in a room. The sheer number may skew your poll.

I have stayed at both for long stays - POR twice. I find POFQ to be more upscale even though there is no sit down restaurant there. The rooms at POFQ are nicer, the foodcourt cleaner and tastier. I love the whole Southern theme and whilst I also love POR, after our last stay at POR ab section, a huge walk to the foodcourt, I have decided I prefer POFQ. The slide is more themed to under 7s but I still liked the pool area more. At POR I found it to be very crowded and I preferred the quiet pool. At POFQ I was able to swim in the main pool and enjoy the not overcrowded hot tub. Now with my family of 5 as they have grown up I would stay in ASMU suites or a deluxe rather than POR.

I like the buildings better at FQ. I don't care for the AB theme, and the mansions just aren't that attractive to me.

It's nice that they're together though, as you can take advantage of the offerings of each.

We chose POFQ because:
It's smaller than the other moderates
I like the theme better than POR
and... BEIGNETS!

We have stayed several times at both and POFQ wins hands down. Everything is so much more convenient. The POR pool was much busier, almost too small for the size of the resort. Always found a pool chair at POFQ. Food courts were similar, but lines seemed smaller most of the time at POFQ. We are walkers but find we walked way too much at POR. Really had to think twice about refilling our mugs. Loved the hot tub at French Quarter but found it busy with parents with young children way too late in the evening during busy season. But we never turned back for too large a crowd.

Have had good luck with housekeeping almost as good as BWI and BC in our mind. Defintely prefer the POFQ over CRS and CBR. We find the moderates a great value. We usually rent a car and rarely use the buses. - Oops! Please disregard this post. Don't want this resort getting too busy.

We have stayed at both and LOVED POFQ and did not like at all POR. POFQ was much less crowded because of the size; therefore the food court was much less crowded. It is our favorite of the moderate resorts because of the size and convenience of the pool, bus stop, and food court to most of the rooms.

Wait, I thought the POFQ was the mansions and POR was the "tom sawyer type" buildings-Can someone clarify this? :confused3

POFQ is the smallest resort on property and it's theme is based on the city of New Orleans.

PORS is it's sister resort and is MUCH bigger. PORS is divided into two distinct sections. Alligator Bayou has the rustic buildings and then there is the Mansions section. PORS used to be named Dixie Landings.

Both resorts share the boats to DTD and also the buses. Buses stop at POFQ first, then go to both sections of PORS.

We prefer POFQ because it is smaller (no where is far from the main building) and is the first bus stop.

We prefer POR mansions. DH said that's the best resort at WDW! That was a surprise to me since we've stayed at almost all the resorts. We loved eating at Boatrights, which is still doable if you walk from POFQ. I would however choose POFQ over the AB section of POR. POR mansions have the feel of luxury and a cool day. They are relaxing. I love to go commando at the parks sometime and usually wake up in commando-get-ready mode. I just couldn't do that at POR because it was such a calming and relaxing place.

We stayed at Parterre Place the last time and I will definitely be asking for that area again next time. It was less than 5 minutes to the marina, pool, dining, or the bus. POFQ is an alright resort, but just not quite the feel of POR.

As of my vote it was 31 to 31 :lmao:
I'm glad we could help! LOL

No really, I like POFQ because it is small, and POR is a short walk. The busses pick up and drop off first. Good luck.

We like this area because of its laid back style, small areas, nice pools. The rooms are nice as well. Also, the swimming hole is alot of fun. Back when it was Dixie Landings, we stayed in Alligator Bayou and it was great! The ride to the parks on the bus was also relatively short.:thumbsup2

We also liked POR for the quiet and laid back atmosphere. We were in the AB section. It was very conveniant to the south depot and dining. We enjoyed the ducks in the morning by the river and the boatride to downtown. I have never stayed at POfrench quarter so I cannot compare.

Before we figured out that AKL was within our budget for our honeymoon, we thought about POFQ. From looking at their websites, we liked POFQ's pool better.

My vote is for French Quarter between the 2 Port Orleans locations. It is nicely themed, smaller, and pretty quiet whenever we've stayed there (or visited).
