Which DLR hotel?

Yes , the email was from Disney and was probably generated because of our stay in May this year. Gave us a special promo code.
RE: The pin code, that was a typo in the email saying it was only for Dec. The offer actually starts at the end of October, though the promo started 9/7. Between Halloween, CHOC, Avengers and Thanksgiving, the lower rates were basically only available during Dec, though.

Wow what a deal. We stayed at DLH this spring too. We did get an email but not with rates that low. I hope you're taking advantage of it!!

I deleted the email but i think it said 40% off during the first two weeks in Dec. which is what I priced and 10 or 20% off for premium rooms for the earlier months. I got a better deal with the Dapper Days promo

is there any way you could tell me the code for first 2 weeks of dec? I would love to get that deal.

Here is the link for Dapper Day Spring 2017 which is April 23. They usually offer convention rates for the week before and the week after .If you can go during this period you can save alot on the room.

That date won't work, unfortunately. The reason we're going at all is because we'll be in the area for a wedding on April 9. We'll go to DL within a few days of the wedding.

The email says up to 40% 12/11-12/22, and then below it in smaller print it says 10-20% on premium rooms. But when you click on the offer and enter everything it shows the dates as 10/23-12/22.

It's a pin code which requires the last name and zip code of the person it was issued to in order to use. It also states it's only for that person and nontransferable.

Just remember if you book the GCH -- the room you're assigned will make a big difference in walking distance. If you have mobility issues you won't want one of the rooms near the "secret entrance" (which is actually a secret exit) because you have to take the stairs to get to the exit. Ask for a room that's the shortest walk from the park entrance.

I personally don't have a problem with the walking distance of any of the Disney hotels. A few minutes of a difference isn't really a factor. I prefer staying within the Disney bubble.

One thing to point out, if you stay at PPH, you will have to cross the street. We always cut through GCH. You can go around near DH through the end of DTD. But this may feel longer. It feels like a standard / average hotel compared to the others. GCH and DH offer a more resort like feel.

DLH it is. GCH is just too expensive. I think I'll be okay with the walk as long as I pace myself, and the adrenaline will definitely make it easier. I feel good about the decision. Thank you all for your help.

We've stayed at both the DLH and the GC and hands down my husband, 15 yr old daughter and I prefer the DLH. It just feels more "magical". We loved the shorter walk to the parks from the GC but not enough for it to overtake our preference for the DLH. Hope you enjoy it as much as we have!

We have stayed at all three Resort hotels and prefer the GCH. You can`t beat the location. At the end of the day ,it feels like a long walk back to DH especially when fighting crowds getting thru DTD.When are you going? During Dapper Days we got GCH standard rooms for $259. We just got an email offering GCH rooms for $334, DH $244, and PP for $183 when staying Sun thru Thur during the first two weeks of Dec. . The DH has three towers and the Frontier is the furthest back and quite a walk. Here are maps I made showing the walk from PP and DH. If you can afford it, I reccommend the GCH. The maps are mislabeled and where it says Downtown Disney District is actually the roof of the GCH.

We got the same rate/offers for December. It's been on my bucket list since the 80's as a wee little lady to stay at the DLH and at that rate, I was sold even though we are going in October too. Best offer I've received via email in a long time.

I think you'll be happy at the DLH. You're looking at maybe an extra 5 minutes walk time but at least it's through DTD. But if you have time, do stop in to the GCH on your way back sometime just to take a look. Your parents might enjoy having a cocktail at Napa Rose if they drink.

My parents don't drink, but I do. Thanks for the tip.

There is also the Lounge at Steakhouse 55, and Trader Sams at Disneyland Hotel. Trader Sam's is a lot of fun in the evenings. Even if you don't drink. I like the Hawaiian singer they have.

Yes, definitely Trader Sam's! Try to sit at the bar if it's available. We had good luck in the early evening.

We just from DL and stayed at the DLH. I asked for the fantasy tower and we thought the walk seemed shorter to get to our room than when we stayed st the GCH in April. You go through the doors of your tower and right up the elevator. Whereas the GCH may seem closer but it is a beast of a hotel. We had to walk quite a distance from the entrance to the hotel to our room. We also enjoyed the ambience of the DLH. The grounds are so beautiful especially at night . I did feel that the room seemed smaller than the GCH and a little tired. We also had to nag house keeping about some minor issues.

I've always been under that impression too, but just called to see if there was any way I could get that rate or trigger a PIN code getting sent to me. The person I talked to said that PIN codes can be used once or twice, and if I could get it, I could use it. Now I assume that means you'd need the info from the person it was sent to, but it is interesting nonetheless. Not sure if that means the person I talked to was mistaken, it's a policy change, or something else.
