Planning an extended Land/Sea Disneymoon and have came up with the following two options

2 night value
3 night cruise
4 nights Grand Floridian Magic Kingdom View

Or

5 night Contemporary- Standard View
4 night cruise

I have never been on any type of cruise, so not sure what to expect :confused3

I would seriously consider the 7 night cruise if I were you. I did the 4 night the first time but that was way too short! I like 7 night cruise and 3 or 4 nights @ WDW before or after the cruise. We do WDW after the cruise just because then ds5 has already seen the characters, did the meet and greet thing w/all the autographs so at the parks we can just walk right on past them and straight to the rides :) but from your choices... hmmm I would probably choose the Magic Kingdom view @ GF!

Disney is not offering any of the 7 night cruises when we are looking (June'07)

However after redoing the math, it does look like we would be able to do the GF, just not MK view before the 4 night cruise

i voted for the 4/5 split simply because who wants to pack that many times? sounds like to much work for a vacation!

Since this is your honeymoon, its doubtful you two will be bringing any children, correct? There are lots of things for kids to do to occupy themselves aboard ship, but for the adults, I've heard its difficult to participate in many of the adult activities scheduled. Such as the wine tasting programs.

I recommend you read up on the disney cruise section of this board and go to Mousesavers.com and allears.net to read cruise reviews. I've heard about many bars being closed until evening, and the few bars open during the day have inadequate staff and seating creating long lines, crowding and short tempers. Between these issues and getting seating at the best restaurant (good luck and you'll pay extra for dining there) the whole disney cruise thing just didn't sound like fun. More like a descent into Dante's Inferno of misbehaving children.

Once you've done your research you may wish to consider spending all your time at the Contemporary or Grand Floridian. The Poly is nice too... very romantic. Do try to stay on the Concierge level. The added amenities are very nice especially the private lounges where you can go to escape the unwashed hoards and dirty diapers hanging on stollers like talismans against evil.

There are many people who actually do enjoy cruising disney style. And they have valid points of view which are quite different from mine. While I respect their differing points of view, I don't happen to agree with them.

My DW and I did our honeymoon at the poly, which was great. The rooms are spacious and the offerings in the conceirge lounge were very satisfying. (they even serve sushi---yummmm!) I have many fond memories of personal time with my new DW looking into each other's eyes over a glass or two of wine, watching the palms trees lining the 7 seas lagoon sway in the breeze. Then back to the room to make some more special honeymoon memories of a private sort.

The main lodge concierge of the GF is probably the best. Don't do SugarLoaf concierge. Not worth the $$$. Haven't stayed there but others have and found the main lodge conceirge delightful. AKL concierge was fabulous too. Though I thought YC excelled in the service, but food offerings were a tad limited. BC concierge was wonderful too. If you have the means, do pamper your fiance with concierge. They can perform miracles when it comes to making reservations. (PS)

We did 4 day land 4 day sea for our Honeymoon and it was AMAZING. We stayed at the Poly with Castle View and then went on the Wonder.

My one bit of advice? Do the parks first and the cruise second. The parks are so hard core that you really need the relaxation of the cruise to get back into the swing of things.

As for adult activities onboard, we didn't have a problem with any of them.

Feel free to ask me any questions!

Thank you all for the advice. I wanted to do just Disney, but the future DW wanted to do the cruise also. (and I figured this was as good time as any to start having her make the desicions  ) We don't have children, so it will be just the 2 of us  We can't afford anything more than Garden View at the GF, but were happy to just be in a Deluxe! Since the trip is not untill June'07 we are booking ASAP- especially the cruise portion, so we will make reservations on the Cruise Ship as soon as they let us

FYI- we choose 5 nights GF, 4 night cruise :cloud9:
