Which Disney springs resort now?

My wife and I (along with our to be 6 year old daughter by the time of the trip next year) are trying to decide which Disney springs resort to book. We are between the holiday Inn and the 2 hiltons.

I guess the question is has anyone been to these recently and could advise which of these feel clean, staffed, maintained, etc? Reading trip advisor reviews is usually pretty negative and we'd like some other views on these hotels. Also, it seems like holiday inn is a typical holiday Inn (we also visited the holiday Inn with the Applebee's in February and that wasn't bad, but we didn't see a room), but it doesn't seem like it has any food there since covid? Is this a problem?

Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando is the newest property, as they renovated the former Best Western.

They include breakfast and evening "kickback" which could serve as dinner if you want.

That would be my choice, if available.

Right now I think Hilton Buena Vista Palace wins for their pools, pool lounge ... if that is going to be part of your days. If looking at the newest, cleanest hotel with the amenities then I would be booking the Drury.

I love the Disney Springs location, I've stayed in all three Hiltons, Wyndham and B Resort. Right now I feel like there has been minimal investment in the hotels in years other than LBVP pool, and now the Drury.

If it's just a bed to you, of those three I would pick the best price for what you get, and if you have a brand preference.

I never eat in any of the DS hotels when staying there - I walk over to Disney Springs.

We haven't stayed at the ones you have mentioned but we have stayed at Double Tree Suites and Hampton Inn, Lake Buena Vista. We had nice rooms at both. Nothing fancy but clean and well maintained hotels. We have stayed at both quite a few times. The Double Tree did have construction going on the last time we went which was 12/2019. I'm not sure what they were doing but lobby was all torn up.

Thank you everyone. Yeah I was looking at the Drury but I'm worried about like how when the Swan reserve opened, the roof was falling down in some rooms. I'm just using that as an example, but you know what I mean. Guess I have to wait until that opens and see because it does seem like the best deal...

We stayed at Hilton LBV this week. Based on reviews, we reserved a recently renovated room which, if current reviews are correct, are on floors 8-10. Hotel common areas are well maintained and the room was clean/maintained with housekeeping daily if requested during checkin. We stayed at Hilton BV Palace in May 2021, that hotel seemed more dated, but the pool/lazy river is much more family friendly. Both are a short walk to Disney Springs for food, shopping, entertainment. Both Hilton's share buses to Disney Parks which will get you to your park of choice for early entry.

Thanks! Did you book a certain room type? From the YouTube videos, both hiltons rooms look pretty dated. But if rooms are renovated at the one you stayed at, that would be awesome....Everything else at these hotels look great and there always seems to be some kind of discount and free parking...

We just booked a standard room which faced the highway, so some road noise but not terrible. Checked in on the app 24 hours before to select the room we wanted.

Thats great you can choose your room before you get there. Thanks for the info

I stayed at multiple Drurys. They are super nice. Just stayed a couple of days at one by Universal at the end of July. The free food and drinks are a great deal. The menu can get a little stale variety wise if there a week. But breakfast and then you can grab a muffin, banana for later is really nice.

So you picked a room based off some reviews? There wasn't an option to pick a renovated room, correct? Still a chance.

Most Hiltons let you pick your room in advance. I do it all the time. In the WDW area I chose a high floor facing fireworks if I can, but mostly avoid noisy views.

Yes, many recent reviews stated floors 8-10 were renovated. No option at this location to actually book a renovated room when I made my reservation - options were Disney Springs view or Guest Room. A couple rooms on each of those floors were available for selection when I did check-in, otherwise, I would have called the front desk to verify. Still had to stop by the front desk upon arrival for coffee & water vouchers.

Having stayed at a number of Drury properties, I would highly recommend them. Their properties are always immaculate, especially the Drury Plazas. The free included daily breakfast is of better quality than just about any Disney restaurant breakfast. They also have a free nightly happy hour that includes 3 free drinks (beer, wine, basic cocktails) and bar food like wings, mozzarella sticks, salad etc… It will be walkable to DS even more so than some room locations at SSR. Their pricing has always been a bargain for the amenities at any of the other locations I’ve been to and, from the prebooking prices I’ve seen it will remain the same here.

We are DVC and use our points on our trips, but every once in a while we still need to supplement an arrival night, where there was no DVC availability, with a stay elsewhere. Typically we would do the Swan or Dolphin or a Disney value. Our choice going forward will be the Drury Plaza unless they fail at this one location.

Agreed. Love the Hilton Palace....great pool and relaxing areas, great place to stay.

I did a lot of research for this November and ended up with Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace. It was the best compromise between location, rooms, pool, and price. I have a few days where I'm going to be working during the day and using the pools/going to Disney Springs at night, so I chose that over some cheaper options with fewer amenities.
