Hi all,

My new hubby and I are planning our honeymoon trip (I'm a teacher so we waited till I had a vacation from school) to Disney in early April. We're staying onsite so we're getting the dining plan. I think our first night we're going to eat outside the park so we can use two TS for a disney signature restaurant. My question now is which one?? I'm thinking Hollywood Derby if we're staying in the park or maybe one of the hotels - does the California Grill have good views of Magic Kingdom's fireworks show?

Thanks!! :goodvibes

California Grill does have good views of Wishes, but what we experienced was that the many window tables tend to be held for VIPs. It wasn't a big deal, since during the show the VIPs were whisked away to an even better viewing location, and so we plebs were able to take our coffee and dessert over to their abandoned tables to watch the show. :lmao:

For a romantic dinner for a newlywed couple, without hesitation I would recommend Jiko at AKL.

The surroundings are beautiful, the service is exceptional at the restaurant, the menu is delightful, daring and creative, and the wine list is extensive and stellar. If you've never tried South African wines, this is the place to try them out :)

If you like sushi California Grill is probably the best 2TS value.

We really enjoyed our meal at California Grill. The sushi appetizers are fabulous. It was also nice to get a little dressed up for at least one meal on the trip. This made it feel like a real "destination" instead of just another meal in the parks.

Even if you don't get a window table, the view of the fireworks is nice from the balcony. They pipe in the music, too. It was an enjoyable way to finish our dinner, but nothing beats being right on Main Street for the fireworks. When you see them from anywhere else, they don't appear to be right over the castle.

We just had a lovely meal at Flying Fish on Monday night. The food was outstanding, the service excellent, and the boardwalk area really charming at night. It was a $200 meal (with wine) and well worth the 2 table services! I really want to try Jiko and CG also.

First choice I would say California Grill, second choice for a good view of the fireworks Narcosses is said to have got better.
