Which Disney Resort has the BEST location, and WHY?

It’s really nice to be able to walk to MK from Contemporary, but we love the theming, pools, views, location even more st GF.

For me my Top 3 are:
  • Poly - love that you can see MK from the beach, you're on the monorail line and I just love the theme. ( Anything Hawaiian for me thank you )
  • BC - I love that I can walk to Epcot and HS or take a boat. Stormalong Bay is also the best pool out there.
  • AKL - just a beautiful resort - so peaceful.

My 4 favorites based on location are below. I’m really having trouble narrowing it down!

Grand Californian: I mean, entering DCA from the hotel is just absolutely incredible. We’ve stayed there twice and I can’t wait to go back.

BLT: Walking to MK. So convenient. It’s not my favorite resort, but that location is so, so convenient for us since we spend a lot of time at MK. I actually like Poly & VGF better than BLT for other reasons, but BLT wins on location.

SSR: This is our home DVC resort. We love how quiet and secluded it feels. The grounds are so peaceful, and yet the proximity to Disney Springs is awesome. We love the balance of tranquil peace at the resort, but also being really close to the action at Disney Springs.

Boardwalk: Walking to Epcot and DHS, easy walkable access to multiple resorts. Love it there.

For my family the "best" resort depends on what we have planned for any given trip. If we are MK centric we like the Poly or the Grand, with the majority of my family preferring the Poly. You can walk to teh TT&C, the monorail is our favorit attraction, and the restaurnats onsite are good. The grounds are lush, tropical and relaxing.

The GRand is magnificent, is perfect for a MK or even EPcot stay due to easy monorail access. The service is impecable and the grounds are stunning. There are several of our favorite TS restaurant right onsite.

If we plan an Epcot centric trip we stay at the BC. It has the beachy vibe we like, is withing walkign distance to two parks, has so many restaurants to choose from we are always happy.

BLT - walk to MK, 1 monorail stop from TTC. If you are too tired to walk back to BLT from MK, it is only 1 monorail stop away.

I would say any Epcot resort since you can walk to two parks within 15-20 minutes. Out of the Epcot resorts I would say BoardWalk is the best location. 15 minute walk to DHS and 8 minute walk to Epcot. Also, the resort has its own bus to AK and MK.
Not to derail the thread... but I'm currently in the process of planning for a trip and am looking at EPCOT area resorts. Is the bus situation better at BoardWalk compared to YC or BC? I know they are all very close so it may be a moot point. I'm a newbie (CA native and frequent DLR visitor) so this is literally a whole new world for me :-)

1.Polynesian- The Hawaiian lobby/outdoor area combination are amazing. Boat and Monorail transportation to MK, direct connect to Epcot also. Access to Ohana and Dole Whips are tough to beat.
2. Beach/Yacht Club- Pool is best on property hands down, short walk to Epcot, walk or boat to HWS, Beaches and Cream is a great option, Boardwalk activities are nearby.
3. Animal Kingdom- Incredible lobby, variety of awesome food options, views of the animals from the resort, and room views are tied with Contemporary/Bay Lake for the best in Disney World

It depends when you go, but when I have gone BW has always had its own bud for MK and AK. The one negative about BW is you could have long walks to the elevators to the main lobby. Personally, I think BW is best positioned of the Epcot resorts because it has the shortest walk to DHS of the resorts. I am a DVC member at BW, but grew up going to YC and BC.

Sweet, we're staying there next May. :teeth:
