Hi there

Not been here for some time, I was here a lot before our first ever trip to Florida in October last year. I found the advice and tips on here invaluable.

Well we now planning our next trip in oct 2013, just wanting any tips/advice about what Disney hotels people like and stay in.

We stayed in the port Orleans Fq last year, I have MS and found it was a great size I was able to walk to and from food court, and used scooter in the parks. We thinking of a different hotel this time around, but I worry about the distances in some of them. I like the idea of the Polynesian but thought I would come here first and get everyone's views not only on these two hotels but any other ones people have used and liked.

Thanks in advance

Hi Jen - welcome back to the boards!

Last year, we stayed at POP. We really liked it, but it is a large resort. We stayed in the 80's building, and it was quite a walk to get anywhere. There are shortcuts you can take, but once you find them and get used to them, it's time to go home

The theming was great, food court was good/lots of choices, mousekeeping really good. We couldn't beat it for the money and would recommend it.

If you decide to stay here, make sure you get a room in a building that is close to Classic Hall - that's where everything is located (ie: bus stops, food court, store, etc.).

You can find a map of the resort here to help you see the layout: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/pop.htm

Since you are considering the Poly, I would recommend one of the resorts that is contained in 1 building, instead of multiple buildings:

AKL-Jambo (our favorite)
WL
BC
YC

AKL and WL are the least expensive of the deluxe resorts. They both have sit down restaurants and a food court.

I would go for the Poly, and rent a scooter off-site. Then you can ride the scooter onto the monorail right to the hotel and use the scooter overnight instead of just at the parks.
